Lucrecia was once a scientific researcher working for the Shinra Corporation under Dr. Grimoire Valentine. When a lab accident resulted in the death of Grimoire, Lucrecia took it out on herself, feeling responsible. This complicated the relationship that soon started between her and his son, Vincent, ending in Lucrecia leaving him out of guilt over his father's death. He never blamed her for the incident, only wanting to see her happy. She would rebuff his concerns for her health during the Jenova S project, coldly brushing him off. Following Hojo's attempt at Vincent's life and subsequent experimentation, it was she who saved his life by infusing him with Chaos-tainted mako and Protomateria. Following the birth of her son, Sephiroth, a grief-stricken Lucrecia takes up residence in the cave that originally housed Chaos, eventually becoming crystallized in mako and falling catatonic. Vincent felt responsible for the events of the Jenova S project and Sephiroth's subsequent rebirth, but has since forgiven himself. Lucrecia still holds a special place in his heart.

Shelke Rui

Vincent met Shelke 'The Transparent' while combating Deepground. Herself a high-ranking Tsviet, she was able to assist him in taking down the organization after defecting from the group. An excellent technopath, her calculating manner mirrors that of the machines she utilizes. While visibly the young girl appears to be not much older than nine, she is in truth in her mid twenties; this agelessness due to experimentation performed on her while in Deepground. Originally uncaring and merciless, she has regained emotions after absorbing part of Lucrecia Crescent's consciousness. Following the events of Omega's defeat, Shelke has begun to fill in the missing years of her life, choosing to stay with Vincent. The two were quite close, mirroring a father/adoptive daughter dynamic.
