Granny hesitated, still trying to come to terms with what had and continued to occur. The two soldiers of the Empire entered looking around. She realized her hesitation and tried to play it off as concentrating, as if to recall the gunshots they spoke of. She thought of the young man in the back and made her decision, "Hmm... I hear a lot of gunshots around this place. And very little is ever done about it, why the grand interest all of a sudden?" She leaned over the bar.
"Don't worry about the Empire's interests. Just answer the question you old crone. The shots that went off in this area a few minutes ago. Did you hear where they came from?" The soldiers focused their attention on her.
"I did. I also heard the sound of a big brawl in one of the other places. Did you check there?" She knew she had to stall them for a couple more minutes. "Now come one. You both know damn well that I can't leave this place and don't converse with nobody. Who you looking for?" She said the last bit with an edge of elderly swagger.
The soldiers looked at each other, "Looking for a man with long black hair, clothing looks like its been pieced together. We're supposed to meet with him in this town and escort him back to Coruscant." The soldiers seemed to be getting a tad restless and one began trying to peer into the back.
"A criminal? You're not ones to take uphold the 'law' in these parts, Roland tries to do that... tries." She said causing one of them to clench his fist angrily.
"The Empire ALLOWS that two-bit sheriff, Roland, to play lawman. He knows damn well who's in charge here! Don't you forget it either you old bat, or else you're reminded of that as well. And he isn't a criminal, he has important information." The soldier pointed his finger at granny. The other started to make his way around the bar.
"I know, I just assumed you'd know I knew that and would have known what I meant." She laughed, "tell you what... I'll cook you up some juicy food, if you tell me this juicy bit of info he had. I know little to nothing about what's going on in the Dunes today." They seemed to contemplate the idea. One took a seat at bar. The other took another step towards the back. "So what'll you have?"
"I'll have a some real meat. The Empire always has M.R.Es, dried and processed. Some real meat would be great. How bout you?" The one said to his partner making his way towards the back.
"Ya... me too." He replied.
"As for the guy we're looking for. He infiltrated this cannibal clan, bunch of zealots that believe if they eat Secondaries and Primes they'll gain power, or some bullshit." He took off his helmet, "Its run by some guy named Baron Deathchew." He ran his fingers through his hair.
His partner reached the door to the kitchen, "You here alone?"
Granny felt a panic run through her. Just as she was about to reply, Eon popped his head out holding two plates of food. "Hello!" The soldier at the kitchen door fell to the ground in a fright while the other scrambled to put his helmet on and raise his blaster.
"What the hell!? Who's the hell is that!?" He yelled pointing at Eon.
Granny paused, "... He's..."
Eon set the plates down on the bar and smiled, he was wearing a kitchen apron, "Oh come on, we just ran into one another twenty or thirty minutes ago. I found this old lady and begged her to let me stay for the night and she said I'd have to earn my keep. So, when I heard you were in the mood for meat I cooked you up some. Extremely fresh too!" Eon smiled, whereas granny turned a little pale.
The soldier on the floor hurried to his feet and around the bar, awaiting to see what his partner was going to do. After a few moments he spoke, "Well count your lucky stars a person like her still exists here. Have you seen the man we're looking for?" He sat back at the bar.
"Other than you two and granny here. Haven't had any other interaction or encounter with another soul. I heard your description of him, so I'll keep an eye out. Sounds important if he's going to assist The Empire in taking down a bunch of cannibalistic rebels." Eon smiled and with a bow returned to the kitchen.
The men took big bites of their food, "It'll be a good day for the Empire and the Dunes when it happens. Mhmm. This is good. Funny thing, I couldn't even smell him cooking this up. Damn good though. You ever want a job as a cook for the Empire you let us know!" The soldiers chuckled, bumping elbows into one another.
Eon laughed, "You got it!" In the back of the kitchen he grabbed the head of the man and after a few moments it vanished. Nothing left. "All done cleaning up back here Granny! I'm gonna hit the hay! Exhausting first day in the Dunes."
