The Temple of Artemis(Pre-Event/Intro Thread)

"Impolite? I'm afraid that I don't understand what you are getting at, Mister Murdoch..." She replied with a frown. "If I behaved in any way that insinuated that I found you impolite, it would be me who has to apologize to you! I am not too versed in the manners of mortals, what little time I spent among them I spent as a wolf. People viewed me as more of a pet or a friendly animal to pet and feed, than an equal to exchange courtesies with." She chuckled and smiled brightly, both because the anecdote was raising her mood and because she wanted to comfort Somerled. Though he was concealing it well, Amaterasu could tell from his rather careful speech and somewhat mechanic politeness that he didn't quite seem at ease with her. Of course she couldn't tell the truth, nor how upbeat Somerled really was, but she could tell there was something.

"You appear to be from Japan like myself, or perhaps from another country of the East, Mister Murdoch? Surely you must be familiar with the etiquette to some extent if that is the case. And if it isn't... well, I would be happy to treat you in a more familiar way. I am not your enemy, I assure you. Or at least I do not intend to be." Again with the polite approach to not refer to him by his first name. He hadn't told her yet if he was okay with her referring to him by name or by an alias, as she herself had requested, so a middle ground might be in order for now.

"As for the grail, I must say that you are making me curious. Though I suppose that we will soon find out what items the Hero is referring to, it does indeed not sound like he's referring to the grail. Though I must say it does not interest me much to have a wish granted, I merely want to bring peace to his troubled soul. But infinite life-bestowing artifacts... i don't think I have ever had any contact with one of those. I have had other artifacts in my time, though mostly they were of little use for mortals - prayer necklaces and enchanted ink pots for the most part. And a number of swords. That leads me to think... perhaps you hail from a different time than I do, or a different place - the world is a big place, after all? I myself last lived in Nippon, at the time of Queen Himiko and Emperor Takara, if either of those ring any bells to you."

Note: Amaterasu as I play her originates from ~248 AD (the year where the shaman Queen Himiko died), though the game has several technological advancements based around feudal Japan. But that's a fairly accurate representation of when she lived.
