Patience was the key to getting through to the blue haired girl. Yuuko did not feel pressured into sitting or even talking to Morene and the older woman took the initiative to introduce herself first. Furthermore, hearing that she wasn't from around here either cemented the idea that she might have been summoned as well by Omni. A part of Yuuko felt a little embarrassed that she had handled her appearance in this world so poorly. Considering that Morene had not only remained composed but reached out to her, the young girl could only berate herself a bit. This technically wasn't the first time she had gone to another world, intentionally or not. Still, she was on the verge of tears then too.
No longer worried about her situation, the blue haired girl spoke up once more, "Yuuko. My name is Asou Yuuko. It is nice to meet you, Miss Morene." Yuuko extended her hand out to Morene and shook it.
She added as she glanced at her surroundings once more, "I guess that being called Omni brought you here too. I...really didn't like how he spoke. He dropped us here with only a few words and it was a...dizzying experience. Omnilium? Rebirith? It felt like we were just brought here for his entertainment. When I woke up in front of the fountain, my head felt a little foggy and I had a hard time remembering things from the past. It came back to me after a moment but...well. If we are to think about what we desire most, then in my case it would be to go home and be a normal student again with no more weird or horrible things happening! Even if I do have Valis and Leethus, I did not want to come here by choice." After letting go, she realized that Morene would have no clue about her swords. In her comfort, she had let the names of her blades slip.
While she briefly wondered if she had said too much, she pushed that thought aside. Yuuko reasoned that if Morene wanted her blades, she could have simply taken them by force when Yuuko was crying. With this thought in mind, she pointed to them and elaborated, "Oh, sorry. The narrow longsword is called Valis and the broadsword is Leethus. Those swords are...well, they aren't like normal weapons. They have personalities and a lot of power...usually. Right now, they are oddly silent...almost like they are asleep so...I don't have any way to prove it right now....and I probably sound crazy to you. If I told myself about all of this years ago, I would feel that way...so it is alright if you don't believe me." She sighed deeply as she spoke her mind. If it weren't for the surreal experience, she wouldn't have bothered to explain her weapons to Morene.
She knew better than to tell normal people about the true nature of swords. When Yuuko first brought home Valis, she had to gloss over the truth. She claimed it was a present from a friend which only prompted more questions. She sidestepped them by saying she wanted to try fencing and thankfully her foster parents hadn't pressed her further. Somehow, she doubted that anyone would believe that she got it from an otherworldly queen. As much as Valis complicated her life, Yuuko had to admit that the voice of the blade kept her calm during her worst battles. However, the silence of her weapons was deafening now. It was ironic how she wanted to be normal but sometimes got used to the strangeness around her. If she could have heard Valis' voice, she might have been calmer upon her arrival to the Nexus. Thankfully, Morene was here and filling the void with her presence.
Even if Miss Morene thinks I am lying....I should still thank her for listening.
