The blind and wounded cannibal ran off, stumbling, tripping, and falling only to try and escape his torturous opponent. Eon keeled over holding his hand over his wound. He'd put on a tough act, but that was all it was. He coughed, choking up some blood. He'd won, but didn't feel like it. He didn't want to fight in the first place, let alone mutilate his opponent. Pete had left him no choice though, the threat of being eaten alive set the bar. He had to leave one alive though, and Pete seemed to be the right decision. He was the leader, he was most likely the strongest and would carry word further than any of the others. Had he just killed all of them, someone would have realized they were missing, someone would have known the gateway was their hunting spot, and someone would have found out who Eon was and eventually this Baron Deathchew would have come looking for him. He hadn't even been in the world a whole day and the idea of a fight, let alone a bulls-eye on his forehead, was not what he had wanted. That's what he had to consider before ending his fight with those five.
Hopefully the message he sent Pete with would reach the Baron. The small one named Manny had mistaken him for some 'False King' or King of the Dunes, just the utterance of his title stopped the power starving, flesh hungry cannibals in their tracks, "Gilgamesh..." Eon whispered. Pete said he heard about him getting 'banished', whatever that meant. The fact is that it was recent enough to only be a rumor. Pete won't ever be able to identify Eon on sight now, and he'll tell this Baron that the rumors of Gilgamesh being banished were a lie causing him to search for him instead. That is, as long as Pete managed to make it to the Baron or someone else in his cult like following. The message would turn to rumor and give Eon enough time to get the start he was looking for in this place. As for now he needed to figure out what to do with his wound.
I have to stop this bleeding, and get out of here before someone else stumbles upon me and four dead guys. I just want this pain to stop. Eon, holding his injury, felt a slight relief from the pain for a moment.
What was that? Am I going into shock? No... it was the Omnillium, I felt the Omnillium begin to subdue the pain. He focused on his wound, focused on making the pain stop. After about a minute, the pain lessened. It was going to take much more time an focus for him to completely heal it though. However, with some of the pain gone he was able to get himself to his feet.
I have to put some distance between myself and this spot. In the distance he could see some type of an oasis, and small town of sorts. He started to make his way toward it in a wide loop, not wanting to walk in the front doors just yet.
It was hot and the heat was not making the light headed feeling he had any better. He could have avoided Gulten's strike, but then avoiding Zigfree's would have been harder and even if he had, Pete would have just picked him off from a distance. He took much more damage than needed... or rather, as much as he needed he guessed.
What if it turns out this King of the Dunes really wasn't banished and I just pretended to be him. If the Baron finds him and starts a fight, what if they realize it was because of an impostor. Then I'm going to be running from two powerful Primes. Maybe I should have just let them eat me... just dealt with the pain and humiliation, only to be resurrected and restored again... or maybe that would have been boring to Omni, and he would have done away with me that quickly. Then I'd be free from this place, but then maybe I'd never have the ability to return to my home. I have much to find out about this world and it's inhabitant... and it's God.
He trudged along in the sand, keeping as focused on his surroundings as he could. He couldn't allow another ambush to happen. He laughed to himself... ambush... those five didn't ambush him, they walked up to him when he had let his guard down. He wouldn't let that happen again. He finally reached a point where he had a good view of the town, probably about a quarter mile out or so. He found a large rock and laid next to it, "This should due. *Ugh* Now think hard about what you want. Another rock at my feet, above my head and one on top of all four." He visualized what he wanted and slowly but surely the rocks began to form. After about fifteen minutes or so, his make shift shelter/ camouflage was made. When he was creating the rocks he noticed the rainbow spectrum of colors that protruded from himself, hoping the large rock he was behind, along with the bright rays of the sun and distance to the town would have kept any from seeing his activity. From there he placed both his hands over his wound and began to focus his use of Omnillium on healing it. It would take some time, and hopefully he could complete it without interruption. After that he'd be ready to venture into the town and see if those who resided in it were as bad as his initial hosts. Or maybe worse. Only time would tell.
