A Strange Pony in a Strange Land

After a few minutes, her sobs began to slow. She put a hoof down hard to push herself upright against the weight of her sarrow

“Come on Pinkie Pie!” She said to herself in third person, imagining herself as the protagonist of a story. “Pull yourself together! You’re not going to get anything done by feeling sorry for yourself!”

She took the moment to think. If the exit wasn’t here, then maybe the exit was somewhere else. She took a moment to soak up her surroundings, looking in every direction for anything else that could serve as a landmark. There were things far in the distance, things too far away to see clearly. She didn’t like the uncertainty of this lead, but it was however, something, and something was better than nothing.

“Alright Pinkie,” back to the third person again, “it’s time to go on an epic journey! However, I shouldn’t do this all alone. I wonder if I could…”

She patted the chin of her muzzle as she thought. She remembered Omni’s wish granting powers, maybe she could wish for one of her friends to join her. However, she was wary of trapping them in this world, too. She thought carefully about all the people in her life; which of her loved ones could Equestria do without? Pretty much everyone is too important to deprived of.

All except one. One of her best friends, one that’s been with her for years. One who’s insight and compassion has helped her frequently even when times were tough.

“Of course!” She yelled out gleefully, as she pictured him in her head.

She clapped her hooves together and focused hard on her wish. Slowly, a ball of light floated out of her pastel body. Minutes went by and the object would slowly take shape.

“Come on already!” Pinkie said annoyed, trying desperately not to lose her focus.

Eventually, the ball took shape and turned into a small lime green alligator with purple eyes and no teeth. It plopped hard against the ground, not even reacting to the impact. It looked up at Pinkie Pie.

“Gummy! I’m so glad to see you!” She scooped the alligator into her arms and gave it a big hug. After a quick snuggle, she held it out in front of her to look it in its eyes. “Listen Gummy, I’m trapped in this weird boring world. It looks like I need to go on an adventure to get myself out! Will you help me?”

The alligator said nothing in response. Instead, it licked one of its own eyeballs without moving the rest of its head an inch.

“Thank you Gummy! I knew I could count on you!” She moved in and gave it an affectionate smooch. Then, with a single hoof, she tossed the toothless gator onto her back. Pinkie began hopping off into a random directions, hoping to reach one of the distant objects eventually.

Hours later, she made it to one of the objects, which turned out to be an archway made of steel. As she approached it, she noticed the two soldiers dress in white armored suits standing at attention. Pinkie, ever the host took a few minutes to make a wish before approaching the two.

“Hello, I’m Pin-” Began the excitable pony, but she was interrupted.

“Halt!” Said one guard, his voice distorted through the helmet. “Please state your name, species, and purpose.”

“My name is Pinkie Pie! I’m a pony and I’m on an adventure!”

The guard logged all this on his small computer before responding.

“Okay, you may proceed.”

The pony suddenly gave each of the guards a plate with a cake slice on it. The pair, confused by the sudden food, grabbed it without thinking.

“Have a fun day!” She said as she hopped through the gate. The two guards looked at each other baffled… before shrugging and then tossing their helmets off, scooping fork loads of cake into their mouths.
