...and what a spectacular splash it was, and what a shame too, that the fisheel had been far too out of it to even see it -- there was not even a single glimpse of awareness that would have allowed it to revel in the fact that it was now raining down on those closest to the fountain.
Its tail panels cracked, some of the glass shattered and fell in colorful crinkles to the bowl of water below, while the rest of the serpentine body hung limp over the higher tier, tarnished silver spoons and bamboo wind chimes pouring from its upside-down mouth, marble eyes falling from their shallow sockets.
There was a hardly a voluntary sound to be made because, as might have been a bit difficult to discern, the creature had simply flat-out died.
There was a slight, slow whisper among some of those in the mechanical wagon, now but a few minutes away from their destination, the gates of hell-- what?

Oh...the portal to Camelot, then.
"Is it gonna be okay?" someone asked.
Another said hurriedly, "It's fine, it's fine -- keep goin, keep goin."
And so they did.
At least when it would eventually reawaken in three days' time, the koinobori could marvel at having thankfully missed the fight in its entirety -- dying, in fact, right when it was beginning.
