Samus didn’t sleep until she was fully healed. It took almost twenty four hours. At Adam’s insistence, she’d taken some painkillers, but refused anything that would affect her lucidity. She wouldn’t be taken off guard again. When she finally did sleep, it was in nestled in the cockpit of her ship, high above the Coruscant nightscape.
Her suit, itself part of her, repaired itself in unison. She’d first noticed this back in Camelot, but this was the first time she’d ever suffered such extensive injuries – in the Omniverse or otherwise.
For the first time in a while, she felt a flash of sick rage towards Omni himself. To take away her power and leave her so vulnerable. She felt weak, and she knew that that was part of Omni’s game. To make her raise her power. She’d even started to enjoy it, in a way. Forget her stalker. Forget the Empire. Omni was the real enemy, and would be until the very end.
She opened her communicator and looked at the small list of contacts. Who among those would stand at her side? More importantly, did she really want to do this?
She tapped her knee for a second, thinking. Then she pressed the ‘call’ button.
