At Connor’s mark, Somerled spurred the beast into action. Without a moment’s hesitation, the moose launched itself forward, keeping pace with the man’s motorbike despite its awkward gait.
“Alright Sonny,” Somerled said not long after the ride began, needing to clear some things up with his other half. Without waiting for a response from Sonny, the storm spirit set into a long-winded explanation about the decisions and observations he had been making recently. Odds are he was just preaching to the choir in talking to his other half about these things, but it was probably best to make sure. If Sonny didn’t know what was going on, then that was one less half of a mind that could help when brainpower was needed.
At the end of Somerled’s explanation, Sonny began humming lightly, a sound that used up their mutual voice without yet saying anything. This way Somerled wouldn’t make the mistake of thinking that the sun spirit wasn’t listening.
“A lot of this just seems to be wishful thinking,” he said once his thoughts had gathered completely. “But I guess we’ll see when we come to it.” Sonny paused for a few moments, listening carefully to the roar of the motorbike. Certain that the two on the bike wouldn’t be able to hear what he was going to say, he spoke again. “And don’t think I’ve forgotten just because I’m stuck in here. Don’t antagonize people, stop talking if you get too angry, don’t threaten to eat people, if you’re gonna eat people, do it discretely, et cetera et cetera. You know, the usual.”
“I know.” Although he said it seriously, the menacing tone to Somerled’s voice didn’t fill Sonny with hope.
