The rules state : Assist characters have access to all of your Proficiencies, Powers and Moves. Without growth the assist will not be able to grow to those heights. The animal is fine, no need to get shrink for that 2.2 feet tall is not a problem for an animal assist.
Higher staff can correct me if I am wrong.
