Reality Uncheck
#4
The blue haired maiden was brought back to reality by the sound of a woman's voice, clear but gentle. She had been surprised like this on more than one occasion and she silently berated herself for being so distracted. One would think she of all people would know better since she was once ambushed in a similar manner. She could even hear Reiko's voice jokingly teasing her about her personality. However, Yuuko was a girl who often wore her heart on her sleeve. If she was upset, she would show it so long as she didn't cause trouble for anyone else. After mentally reliving her best and worst moments in life, it would have been almost impossible to keep calm. Still, she was alert now and paying close attention to the woman a few feet away from her.

Yuuko had never seen a woman as tall as the one standing before her. She had certainly seen demons that matched this height or grew taller than that but a human was surprising for her. Furthermore, the woman's armor as reminded her of the styles the demons were fond of wearing. While these ideas were troubling to her, Yuuko didn't simply turn and run. First off, the woman was clearly human despite her attire. Secondly, even if she had some connections with demons, that didn't automatically make her a threat. The black clad woman had plenty of opportunity to do something to her and Yuuko realized that she had intentionally chosen a civil approach. Tense feeling in Yuuko's muscles subsided as instinct gave way to logic. For the time being, Yuuko was not going to flee.

She took a few steps forward but paused as a thought crossed her mind. The young girl turned towards the sturdy brick wall around the fountain and set her two swords down against it. She dug the tips of the blades into the 'ground' so that the weapons could lean against it. Clearly, she tried her best to not seem hostile though one might wonder why she would carry two weapons around with no place to put them away. With her free hands, Yuuko tried to clean up her face a little by wiping away her tears. She immediately bowed towards the armor clad woman, "I...I am sorry if I was disturbing you. I just...had a lot to take in." Her voice cracked a little as she recovered from her crying fit. Yuuko began with an apology of all things because she was worried that she might have offended the woman in some way with her crying. Raised on Japanese customs, Yuuko kept her body straight as she bowed at her waist. A part of her thought the woman might not appreciate the subtle meaning behind it but Yuuko always clung to these traditions to keep herself grounded in the face of the bizarre.

The schoolgirl decided to take up the strange woman's offer as she sat down on the ground next her. Although Yuuko was unarmed, her blades were still within easy reaching distance. A part of her still wasn't sure why she decided to come close. Perhaps it was the tone of the woman's voice that prompted the action. Perhaps it was the fact that she heard the woman speaking perfect Japanese. The idea that Omni took language into account when he created the Omniverse didn't even cross her mind. The biggest reason was that Yuuko felt lonely and she really did need someone to talk to. The blue haired girl gave a weak smile as she glanced up at the pure white sky, "...I think I might be stating the obvious given the landscape." However as soon as the words left her mouth, a new realization dawned on her. She looked at the armor clad woman and immediately added, "Ah, unless this is normal for you and you actually live here...um which if so...I apologize yet again."

If there was one truth about Yuuko, she was an honest person. Even if she tried to lie about something, her poker face was non-existent. At best, she could omit facts or choose to remain silent. So it was clear as day that she meant no offense.
