A child that looked like a goat.
Another soldier only this one obviously human.
The outcry and the further demands from another party only caused Shū to tighten the grip around the metal soldier’s neck. Having a similar weapon in design, the new soldier was holding his weapon with trained precision. And in the same manner, though his finger was far from the mechanism the white-armored machines were very willing to use. Face skewing in confusion and irritation, Shū shut his eyes tight.
Another barrage of demands from the troopers forced a nervous tick on Shū’s right eyebrow. Energy in the form of valves began to release around his heart, spiraling up and in every direction. His breathing became heavier as his heartbeat continued to pound faster and faster till it would put a hummingbird’s to shame. Tendrils of electricity began to appear, licking about the floor before fading off.
Static took to the air, causing strands of hair to raise and goosebumps to breakout across skin. He understood what the armed man was saying, understood what the goat-boy had asked of him. No, what was begged of him. Their words made sense yet they seemed foreign to him, as if he shouldn’t understand. Another pulse of electricity built up, dancing across him and his captive. Shū could feel the man tense in his arms.
“QUIET!” His voice boomed across the Nexus, a thunderous cry that had many people turning their heads. As suddenly as it had come, the electricity died out as if it was never there to begin with. Trying to get a good look at the soldier and the creature who looked just as distressed as he was, his shoulders seemed to lose some tension. Though the white-clad soldiers refused to lower their weapons. The shaman didn’t expect an introduction and fully understood the man was trying to deescalate the situation, something he was familiar with. He didn’t know what a ninja was but assumed it was a friendly saying. There was hesitation after his outburst but he felt obligated to respond in kind.
“I am Shū En’Asena, shaman of Aurora Basin and these things…” The last word was dripping with spite and a snarl as he angled the weapon against his captive’s head. “These things look like the ones that destroyed my home…”
