Oh no! Ruby exclaimed in Cuby's shared mind, mentally screwing her eyes shut. The dragon thief was gaining ground quickly, not to mention there wasn't one, but TWO attacks they had to deal with. Ruby, stay calm, I've got this. Let me take control, Connor reassured her, and with a squeak the reigns were handed to the gunman. Smirking, he tossed his firearm into the air, misdirecting his opponent's focus for the mere few seconds he required to summon his small ceramic dagger. As the chain was a sliver away from Cuby's abdomen, he swung his blade across, batting the chain with it. Of course, from the brittleness of the weapon, it shattered upon contact, but the chain was out of the way and now the glowing, azure arm was their only trouble.
I'm sorry for this, Ruby, Connor apologized, teasing a squeak from the Huntress girl.

As the sapphire fist collided with Crescent Rose, the lightweight shaft shattered into two halves, taking the brunt of the blow, but nonetheless Cuby was sent screaming through the air. He tumbled along the ground for half a dozen meters before landing neatly back onto his feet, barely keeping his balance as his heels eased over the edge of the pillar.
NO! Crescent Rose! What have you done, Connor?! Ruby screeched at her partner, a growl easing into her voice. We already lost the first... now the second?! What is wrong with you?!
In five... four... three... two... one... Connor counted down calmly. And here we go...
The panting Cuby keeled forwards, hands against the cement pillar. Violently shaking hands connected the shattered scythe together and a crimson energy engulfed the entire structure. The sky began to darken, the sun rapidly descended to dusk, and then to night as the moon rose and took its position, overthrowing it as if executing regicide. The mass of scarlet, popping light in Cuby's hands morphed and flew into the air, shooting back down with a score of red spears, drawn directly from the moon. The ruby rain cascaded around Cuby, surrounding him in a blood red aura. His face slowly rose and his irises had become pure white, devoid of all emotion, instead replaced by primal rage.
"Oh... my..." The amalgamation across from the newly born animal groaned in fear. "What have we done...?"
A scythe of scarlet energy grew from Cuby's right arm, and before little more spectacle could occur upon the tower, the berzerker rushed in, slashing straight across the thief's chest, slicing a deep trench as easily as he might have cut a twig. He followed with a cross punch from his left fist, which was caught on the reptilian's forearm, resulting in an echoing crack as something broke within. A flurry of kicks ensued, allowing the opponent little time to react to the onslaught. More scythe slashes resulted in blood gushing out onto the pillar below, an unstoppable torrent of scarlet. Cuby managed to include a couple of grapples just to increase the pain he dealt out, grasping the fantasy creature's body and driving elbow, foot and knee alike into her already devastated body.
As Cuby went in to attempt an execution, his face was met with a scaly dragon fist; he might have had the strength and speed to slay a thousand men, but his resistance to damage was as little as it were before. As he felt his nose shatter, he was sent flying backwards, only to land once more.
The distance gave both duos time to charge up. The dragon's body glowed a vibrant sapphire, while Cuby sat down in a position reminiscent of a runner, before launching off at high speed, darting to the fully charged, explosive dragon thief.
