"And they know about my chains. They won't let us steal their weapons again." Demetri added.
"Then let's stop messing around. We got to bring the fight to them! Let me do that for a bit, my specialty’s close combat." Demetri nodded and withdrew from their shared body for a bit – not withdrawing entirely, but ready to help. Demexyana then raised their hands and shot out the chains, which both missed Cuby entirely and dug into the ground left and right behind them, sticking out next to them both. Cuby raised the Lyöcan weapon, aiming to hit at a distance, when Demexyana retracted both chains and used them as hooks to pull themselves in. The problem was that this way their body was mostly exposed to Cuby’s attack, and the latter was able to land two shots with Lyöcan before being forced to block the incoming kick with Crescent Rose 2.0 as dodging wasn’t possible with the chains on either side of them. Demexyana sent them backwards, almost to the edge of the pillar they were on, but Cuby caught themselves before things could get critical. Demexyana followed right up, getting as close as they could and punching Cuby repeatedly with little technique or finesse, forcing them to block using the hilt of Crescent Rose 2.0 and unable to attack themselves as getting knocked back might just knock them off the edge of the pillar. Demexyana peppered them with straight punches for almost an entire minute before shifting their weight to go for a stronger kick, which Cuby noticed however.
”There!” they yelled and leapt backwards, slashing Crescent Rose 2.0 into the pillar’s surface and using it as leverage to fling themselves around and back onto the pillar, whilst Demexyana nearly lost her balance from the missed kick – but Demetri saved them with one of his chains shot into the ground to pull them back.
"Be careful! You want to get us both killed?"
"My bad. I didn’t expect them to recover this soon."
"They’re skilled and nimble on their toes… we have a fair chance but not if you mess us up again."
Cuby needed a moment to pull their Crescent Rose 2.0 back out of the rock, which gave Demexyana enough time to recover and hurry away from the edge, retract the chain and shoot it back out at them, only to have it deflected with ease. Now that they saw it coming that trick was getting useless as well. And their stealth? Cuby could by now tell when something was fishy.

”What’re you going to do?"
"I’ll brute-force my way through their defense. My Dragon Bomb takes up a lot of energy but if we can hit their scythe the resulting energy blast ought to snap its handle in half so they can’t use it anymore. If we can secure the advantage in close quarters we’ll be able to win, their ranged weapons aren’t useful enough when too close to us."
Meanwhile, Cuby raised the Lyöcan once again, aimed and fired one shot, then another, but Demetri helped Alexyana out by rapidly moving and dodging, making the bullets miss the torso and only leave scrapes on their arm and shoulder – though granted, they were painful. Then Demexyana shot another chain forward, forcing Cuby to use Crescent Rose 2.0 to block it, whilst coming running straight after it and throwing their fist forward, attempting to hit either Cuby or Crescent Rose 2.0 with it.
