With a yelp, Adam Gaite disappeared beneath the cacophonous onslaught of his own maneuver. Each bolt of energy that struck home caused the ground to shake beneath Shang’s feet, but in just a few moments, everything was over.
A cloud of dust and dirt hung low over the bare ground beneath the crumpled form of Adam Gaite. A groan escaped the youth’s throat as he rolled onto his side.
“Sorry,” Shang muttered as he walked over to the crumpled child. The sorcerer held up his hands and summoned the Day’suis in a flash of sunlight.
“About what?” Adam coughed.
“About you being a shitty god.”
Sneering from ear to ear, Shang slung the giant warhammer down onto Adam’s chest. There was a sickening crunch as ribs split into pieces and tore into his internal organs like a burst of ivory shrapnel. The boy’s eyes went wide as blood immediately starting to bubble of gurgle out of his shuddering mouth.
“Your soul is mine,” Shang whispered as he discarded the hammer and claimed his prize.
