Raising his arms, Shay gasped as the liquid flames spread across his arms, quickly seeping into his thick coat and right into his skin. The Templar couldn't tell what was worse, looking at the Yellow Lantern's bearer choke and drop Agnès from what seemed to be a few hundred feet into the air at the corner of his eye, the fact that Shay's stomach was almost sliced open with nothing he could do about it, or the annoying infant that was still making a mockery of the entire situation attempting to turn both Shay Cormac and Erik Vrell into ash?
Falling to his knees, Shay wheezed as he breathed through the smoke, using the sand beneath him in a desperate attempt to douse the flames. In all this wretched pain, Shay could only wonder, when was the last time he'd been in so much pain?
The Lisbon earthquake which he had caused all those years ago? No, perhaps the moment in which he was shot in the back and put into the freezing Atlantic ocean?
Shaking, Shay pulled his body upright, his ears still ringing like a bell in the middle of a silent room. Shay coughed as the horrible pain in his arms began to numb, putting more attention on his already clotting stomach wound.
Shay, moving his arms, quickly snapped for both of his blades, ripping his sword and dagger from their sheaths, stabbing into the ground in front of him, lifting himself up. His neck popped as he looked at Stewie's metallic body, barely noticing the seeming witchcraft of preforming such a task. The Templar stared intently into the child's eyes as Stewie's metal alloy faded from his body.
Stewie's laughter filled the war-torn air, Erik seeing this as a chance to strike. The psychic took his own blade, dashing towards Stewie with his other arm raised, attempting to blind the child with brightly charged psychic energy. Stewie jumped back a slight bit, seeming to be amused by Erik's strategy.
"Ha," the child spoke, "as expected, so much trouble to deal with me!"
Shay, walking towards the two whilst Stewie quickly evaded Erik's Mageslayer blade, thought it'd be appropriate to show Stewie exactly how much trouble he's been giving the two New Babylonians. Pulling out one if his flintlock pistols, Shay took a bullet from one of his pouches, quickly loading the weapon.
Stewie pulled out his laser pistol, smirking as he aimed it at Erik. Halfway through pulling the trigger, Stewie's hand twisted to his left, spraining his wrist as a loud crack filled the air, sparks flying from his own weapon as it flew across the street they all were fighting on. Cursing to himself, Stewie looked in the direction of Shay, whom was currently speeding towards the child despite his grievous wounds.
In mere seconds, Erik watched as Shay slammed his already busted shoulder into Stewie, both of whom were shouting in pain, though considering Stewie was soon skidding along the streets of Nippur, Erik could thankfully assume it hurt the infant more than it did his comrade.
The Templar continued towards Stewie, attempting to grab the child by his overalls. To counter this, Stewie smiled as he planted his feet on the ground, his shoes clawing into the concrete covered by sand.
"Damnit--!" Shay exclaimed, before immediately getting pushed away by Stewie using his surprising strength. The Templar's legs began to weaken, forcing Shay to step back quite a distance from the fight, Erik once again using his psychic energy to knock the child off balance.
A few seconds passed, the two fighters exchanging a few blows, before suddenly as ever, a slight puff of air was heard in the midst of all the screaming, shouting, and fighting.
Then, Stewie's vision began to blur. A sharp pain sliced into his neck, as if somebody took a needle and stabbed it right into his throat. Stewie suddenly realized, slumping over due to the overwhelming exhaustion, that he was being put to sleep. Erik jumped a bit in surprise, noticing the tiny dart now lodged in the child's neck, looking over to see Shay loading his air rifle.
Breathing heavily, Shay tried his best to focus on putting Stewie down, hoping Erik would deal with the infant when he woke up in a few short seconds. Despite it all however, the Templar saw a familiar figure flying above the city grounds of Nippur at the corner of his eye. The same figure who dropped Agnès a few moments ago.
Sinestro.
Shay's mind raced, dropping his rifle to the floor, before instinctively channeling his Omnilium, forming a single harpoon in his right hand.
Shouting the loudest war cry he's made in years, Shay pulled his arm back, took careful aim at the Ring bearer, and threw.
