The Journey for Paper (Cleansing the Earth)
#10
The group strode through the arching doorway and stopped where solid ground met mud. Before them lay a rough, uneven path, filled with an assortment of peculiar objects. Two parallel rows of smooth, squat trees bordered the mud, hemming it in. Beams of wood extended over the muddy ravine. Sprinkled among them were thick ropes, and several gradual slopes rose above the mud, all of which ended in a straight drop. A few indecipherable signs hinted at the possibility of additional contraptions lying in wait among the trees. The entire course had a continuous curve to it, twisting to the right.

What could possibly be the purpose of this? Puzzled, Eric turned, seeking answers from Tsunade. But, with a quick glance through the gathered crowd, he realized Tsunade appeared to not be present. The confused mage looked towards the nearest ninja. "Where has Tsunade gone?" He replied, obviously annoyed, "Our leader has no time to be dealing with someone as insignificant as you. She left to conduct other business." Well, that makes sense. But I wonder what all this is for? Another ninja approached Jams, and handed him a single white sheet of paper. "This is the second trial, the trial of worthiness. The objective is simple: escort this paper to the end of the course, intact and unsoiled. You may begin."
