Quote:Filling in for Victor, since he is unable to continue the fight.
The draconian assassin swiftly fled the scene after his opponent's head made impact against the woodwind instrument, spreading his wings and catching the little air in the room. He soared backwards, keeping a trained eye on his opponent's hiding place. The girl in green had the range advantage hands down, as much as he might be able to blow the rapier-wielder to bits with a well-aimed crystal shot... but he could tell his accuracy was trumped, just from the single shot fired into his wing.
How did Victor know all this, though? He had never wielded the large blade within his grasp, he hadn't focused on such details about the opponent either. Usually it was just kill-and-get-out, but-
Well, seems like I don't need to tell you how to use that... a stern voice echoed in the assassin's head. A subtle snarl warped Victor's lips as he touched down, crouching low and folding his wings around himself protectively. Yeah, would have been nice to know you were here, too, Victor responded snidely. The dragon chuckled. Yes, I apologize for that, Axorn apologized, but I don't think now's the right time to deal with such... formality, as pleasant as it might be, he stated, pulling Victor's lips back into a grin.
"Sounds fine to me." He remarked quietly. "Axorn, right? Let's get this over with." Victor reached down and clicked the button at his belt, a veil of nothingness shrouding his now reptilian body. The assassin took off, his disappearance unbeknownst to the swordswoman.
Behind the colossal clarinet, said swordswoman combated her partner's mind with hers. "Let's get some things straight; I am in control here, you do NOT get to try anything funny, got that?!" The ivory-haired female growled to herself, unawares she had spoken aloud. She spoke again... but the voice seemed to change in tone. "Jeez, no need to get so pissed. If you wanna win this, I'm gonna need to be in control, 'cause I ain't letting a young girl get us killed." The male remarked snidely. "Not to mention if we argue over this all day, that... thing's going to kill us before we come to a conclusion, so pick your poison."
The combined body sat in thought for a moment, and finally a sigh was released from her mouth. "Fine, but if you do anything funny, I will be killing you personally as soon as we're out of this body." She warned him, before relinquishing control of the body, allowing her counterpart to take the reigns.
But not a step was made before a flashing, scarlet crystal pierced the marble at their toes. Curious embers zoned in on the object, and instinct told them to dodge; an act the fusion made too late. As she leaped away from the imminent explosion, the crystal detonated, a roaring flames expanding outwards and launching the swordswoman towards the wheel of a piano. She impaled her rapier into the marble, spraying the shimmering rock into the air as her body was swung around into a crouch. Her glowing peepers darted around the dome, scanning for some sign of her opponent...
The sound of a clunking mechanism behind her was the alarm she needed to roll backwards. A giant blade, impossible for a normal human to wield, crashed into the floor before her, carving a deep trench in the marble. Victor's cloaking dissipated, and the gunsmith girl stared up at the draconic foe with fearful, fiery orbs. She let no moment to waste, though, and swiftly spun her rapier around in hand. She thrust the sharp-tipped weapon through Victor's leg and pulled the trigger, blasting a painful shot into the scaly flesh and ripping the rapier out.
Roaring ferociously, Victor brought his giant blade around from his left shoulder in a wide arc, a fatal swing which the gunsmith ducked under. She proceeded to savagely strike again, but the assassin batted the thin shaft aside with his dagger, before following up with a large smack to her face with the guard of the gunblade. The swordswoman was sent careening across the dance-floor, until she dug the rapier into the marble once more, leaving a fissure in her wake. Her golden pinpricks stared murderously at the draconic Victor.
A plume of raging flames roared forth from Victor's mouth in a three inch wide cone, blazing a path straight towards his wide-eyed opponent. In retaliation, the swordswoman pulled a second trigger on the rapier and release her own searing surge, and the two blasts of flame collided in mid-air. A battle of infernos was fought, flames crackling and popping in the center, but the female's lips were moving behind her own wall of fire.
Five. Four. Three. Two. One.
The click of the canister sounded, and time froze for the alabaster-haired amalgamation.
