Legacy & War (Battle of Nippur)
#22
“Finish Buster!” The cybernetic mouse cried as he raised up his arm. A small blue ball inside the Mouse’s arm whirred and shook uncontrollably. The King would have to show this filthy rodent what a true weapon was capable of.

Gilgamesh’s feet skidded amongst the sand, dust kicking up as his charge was brought to a halt. A sly smirk came to his face as he pulled back Ea, calling upon it to wreak havok upon this mortal. The three segments of the ancient blade began to spiral quickly, red flares of energy was wisping out of the blade, and the pebbles began to float off of the ground.

“Be prepared to taste the Blade of Creation’s power, mongrel. Enuma Elish!”

Gilgamesh thrust his blade forward and saw the red blast of energy lash out from Ea. The rodents shuddering blue ball quickly dissipated as a laser beam met to challenge Ea’s attack. The two beams almost immediately crashed into each other, causing sparks of red and blue to fly out. The King’s heart was racing, his hands felt almost clammy, and adrenaline was racing throughout his body like never before. A wicked smile came to his face, tinted by the clashing blue and red lights. His eyes filled briefly with madness and mad laughter forced it’s way out of it’s mouth.

This was short lived as the clashing quickly turned into something else. The two beams somehow managed to twirl and wrap themselves around each other, creating such a beautiful contrast of colors. Gilgamesh had the wonderful opportunity to see this beauty up close as it proceeded to hit him square in the chest.

The blue beam of energy flung the King across the battlefield, his bare back scraping against the sandy dirt. Black fumes were slightly steaming off the King’s now charred chest. He let out a weak groan as he raised his head in pain. Across the road was the Mouse who was already on his feet even though his body seemed to be slightly singed. The mongrel raised its arm cannon at Gilgamesh, beginning to charge it once more.

Gilgamesh snapped his fingers and many small golden portals opened around the filthy animal. The Mouse’s grim face to turn into one of curious frustration as chains flew out of the portals directly towards him. He attempted to break out into a sprint but chains grabbed around his legs before he could take his first step. His face planted into the ground as the rest of the chains began to bind around the rest of the mongrel’s body.

Gilgamesh slowly got up from his kneeling position and wiped the dust off of his now beaten up chest. A golden portal opened up behind him and he took out a single blade as he walked over to the struggling mouse. The mongrel’s expression was priceless, a vain attempt at freedom in the face of death.

“Now while you’re here let's have a talk.” A wicked grin curled onto his lips as he played with the sword upon his opponent's neck. The tip of the blade barely touching the mouse’s flesh, leaving a droplet of blood to trail down his body.

“Do you think LAW cares more about it’s citizens than I do? I have protected my citizens, fed them, and even saved them from the face of death.” A sly smirk came to his face as he slowly traced the blade down to the robot’s stomach. The jingles of the chains ever grew more frantic causing Gilgamesh to sweat profusely. He then brought his mouth to the mouse’s ear and whispered.

“You want to know why I do this?” The King suddenly pierced his sword into the mongrel’s stomach. His armor providing some resistance to the blade’s sharp tip.

“Because I tend to take care of my property.” A soft, wicked laugh was not far behind.

The mouse let out a rage-induced scream. His arms broke loose from the chains and suddenly brought his arm cannon down, pointed at Gilgamesh’s stomach

“What?! How?!” The King tried to jump back as the Mouse’s cannon charged. As he jumped the mouse shot his cannon, causing shotgun pellets to tear through the King’s stomach at point blank.

The King was flung backwards and he barely made it to his feet. He fell to his knees, breathing heavily and bleeding profusely, as the mouse began to rubs its wrist and other limbs as if they had been cramped in that position. His clutched his stomach that had been torn through so dramatically, the blood seeping through his fingers. He looked up at the filthy, damn mongrel with a face of pure hatred.

“How dare you make me bleed you filthy mutt!
