Now, this is a story all about how
My patience got flipped-turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute
Just sit right there
I'll tell you how you're misinterpreting this...
Firstly, let me point you to the Fighting And Competition Rules. Specifically the Initiating Fights section.
Within the first couple of sentences, literally the first two, it says this;
So, when we look at this, we see that PvP fights are usually a result of an agreement from both participating parties. Or, if this isn't the case, it is a result of being in a situation that you have put yourself in. Owning a base, or getting a bounty, these two circumstances put you under constant threat of unavoidable PvP, this is how it works. They are also situations that you put yourself in. You could argue that having a bounty isn't by choice, but it was the player's choice to attack that Storm Trooper, or those innocent Camelot citizens etc.
Now, with that being said, I do notice a lot of respect coming from the community. One such example being the fact that Luffy was allowed to keep his boots (his artefact) after his loss in the Camelot tournament. This wasn't an executive decision made by Proto or Omni, but one of respect made by Okor. Thaal recognizes this respect and came up with this, completely optional, system for people to let their preferences be known.
In saying this, I also realize that there are some people that will not always go by another person's preferences. But this thread helps people to display their preferences without making a big deal about it when the inevitable does happen.
In saying all that, this Idea is not Official. It has not been added to the rules. It is a completely optional addition, and I do not think it is something that should be added to the Rules. Whether you're displaying Red, Yellow, or Green, no one is breaking any rules by attacking you. None at all.
In my own opinion, I think this is a well thought out Idea. I think Thaal has taken a lot of time and effort into puting this together. Not to mention all the opinions he has considered. It is fine if you don't want to participate, but he was just trying to help people, and I think that it is completely and utterly disrespectful of you to try and poke holes and assign problems where there are none.
I'm going to be completely honest with you here Desco. But the only person that has found any issue with this thread and it's ideas, the only person that has even mentioned the promotion of Public Shaming and Complaining, has been you.

Quote:Fights usually start in official storylines and are agreed on by both players. Other times they are the result of a base assault or a bounty being placed, or often simply as an In-Character grudge or dispute.
