Eh this has been happening for a while, look at Man of Steel, when it wasn't trying to cram more Jesus imagery than your average Christian rock concert, or sucking off the US military (Transformers do this too) It was filled to the brim with product placement. Unfortunately, most audiences just apparently want to see things blowing up and will buy these trash films because "the action scenes were good"
Not seen the Emoji movie yet, hopes are not high but who knows, sometimes the lowered expectations can acutally make me appreciate a movie more.
