Okay, so, the rules pages are currently down (obviously) or I would find and quote the specific bit Omni is talking about in the post you quoted.

But the entire point is, there was always a rule about this — specifically in the Rules of Conduct, or the RPing Process, my memory isn't infallible here — that said quite clearly do not use excessive font or color changing in your posts, because it was obnoxious and hard to read for some folks.

It was never strictly enforced because it didn't cause any major problems within the system. Anyone who found it obnoxious, irritating, or difficult to read could always ask their partner in threads to stop, or slacken off a bit, if it really was an issue.

But here, on the new software, it DOES cause an issue, with the OM gain specifically, and so it IS being enforced.

That's really all she wrote on the subject, folks. It's worded like that because, technically, you WERE doing something wrong. MOST of us were. Only a technicality? Sure, whatever, as it wasn't being enforced. It's not a big deal. Just don't do it anymore.
