The semifinals were upon the crowd following a brief lull in the violence to clean out the magically manufactured cityscape for the quarterfinals. As Victor von Magnus watched, they set up the arena for the next pair of matches.

Semifinals – The Dwarven Exodus

A sad chapter in the history of the Kingdom. At the height of the war with Diablo, the dwarves abandoned their ties of fealty with the Kingdom when their resolve in war wavered in the face of an om-coming assault. In his characteristic stubbornness, Bruenor Battlehammer led his people from Camelot and into the Frozen Fields. Almost immediately, the dwarves were beset by attackers in the form of a warband from Diablo. Along the sloping hills and frozen lakes, the dwarves fought for their lives.

For the seminfinals, the arena has been transformed into that old battlefield. Small hills (ranging from 10 feet to 30 feet) covered with ice and snow dot the landscape. Much of the ground is frozen lake interspersed with equally frozen islands. While the surface is frozen, there is eight feet of frigid water below the ice.

As with previous rounds, there is an armory at each end of the combat area. One has an assortment of dwarf-themed weapons (maces, hammers, flintlock firearms, crossbows), and the other has armaments from the army of Diablo.

The dwarven armory contains two rock golems that can be activated for use.
The Diablo armory contains two (infernal) rock golems that can be activated for use.
