Genesis of Apotheosis
#13
Dane blinked at the outburst. Thinking back, he did vaguely remember Strazio being one of the members of the group him and Clownpiece suicidally attacked. Although the only reason Dane recognised him was because of the research he did on the other entrants during and after DA. Dane surprised even himself from how calm he felt about the explosion of the rage avatar's temper. Briefly, he entertained the thought that dying actually affected his mental state in more ways that he'd previously anticipated; everything felt somewhat muted - but that was a line of discussion for another time.

"Calm down. It was a competition geared around fighting people, I hardly think you're in a position to complain. Anyway, the way I remember it, you had both our host and... umm... someone else, I think, with you. With or without the culling, you had the number advantage." Dane suppressed the urge the shrug, opting to instead look back at Strazio, disinterested. Internally, however, he was almost happy - his ally must have done pretty well for herself even if she didn't make it out alive. He was sure Clownpiece would probably laugh when he told her about this later.

He'd briefly considered a few other options for his reply, some more provocative than others, but deemed them inappropriate. Back at the time of the aforementioned event, Dane had had very little time to even register who he was even going to fight, but he'd conceded to Clownpiece that since death probably wasn't permanent, they might as well have gone out with some form of chaotic and suicidal glory. He didn't appreciate the concept, but after running for days straight, he didn't have a reason not to.
