Ferris Wheels!

What glorious fun! Or so Gildarts thought when he stepped on the rickety swing bolted in by a single staple of metal that squeaked when his dense muscular body mounted the swing.

It slowly rose up, and then stopped about a quarter of the way up, "Uh, is the ride broken? It isn't doing anything and I think we are supposed to be at the top."

"Gildarts this is the way Ferris Wheels work, we will get to the top shortly, and plus the people who climbed on before us are sitting there right now admiring the view. Lighten up?" She said. Their view wasn't half bad but it was chopped majorly by a giant rusting sign that looked like with the wrong push it would fall along the boardwalk and likely cause the whole thing to crumble into the splinters that were holding it together.

"Hm. Hang on. I'll get that eyesore out of here in no time," Gildarts seemed determined and before Molly could place a hand on his shoulder and tell him not to jump out of the cart, he'd taken a mighty leap and landed... On an invisible platform of air.

Little shoots of surging magic shown underneath his feet like glittering shards of broken gravity. "Whoa Gildarts can fly?" the little girl was stupefied.

Gildarts continued to walk along the sky in climbing steps of gravity, his stride was slow as though he would climb stairs, but every step was calculated to perfection and carried him deliberately to the hinge hanging sign.

It was definitely a hazard, now that Gildarts had gotten a closer look. One big wave from the ocean rocking the dock, or a heavy ride by from the dock's roller coaster might be enough to finally cause the unmolded, decomposing metal hanging in by chicken wire to snap.

"HEY! YOU UP THERE!" Someone called to the prime who was standing still close to the sign and deliberating whether or not to yank it out like a splinter or attempt to cut it off or otherwise.

Gildarts blinked and looked down. What did the dude want? The crash mage was in the middle of doing some free repairs, couldn't the yeller dude see that?

"YOU BETTER NOT TOUCH MY SIGN," the gray haired man yelled, "I GOT A WORK ORDER FER THAT THING AND-"

Whoosh! predictably, a gusting wave slammed into the boardwalk's lower stilts, swaying the whole dock, and yes... Snapping what was left of the wilted metal.

The gray haired chef's eyes bulged with shock. It was evident now more than ever, he had to let the prime to catch the sign so he could avoid a lawsuit, "Nevermind mister Prime PLEASE get the sign, if you don't it is your fault when it falls!"

Huh. What a weird guy. Changin' his mind mid-sentence. Maybe Gildarts had never noticed how strange people could be because he'd never thought about it. Maybe the blessing of coherent cognition would come with its own curses. Nothing the Ambrosian couldn't deal with... Most likely.

"GILDARTS WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Molly screamed, dumbfounded by his complete lack of urgency. "CATCH THAT THING THERE ARE KIDS BELOW IT!"

The sign had begun its slow descent toward the teacup ride below it, accelerating before his eyes with the added momentum of its own weight.

Wordlessly, Gildarts dropped his gravity, and it almost appeared he had cast his own gravity spell on himself in order to accelerate his downward speed. His fists gripped the steel and molded it like putty with grooves the size of his fingers while he yanked up on the metal sign and his own gravity spell before the enchantment dissipated. Having caught the big crusted sign, Gil looked around the front of the Ferris wheel for Molly seeking guidance.

"Oi, Molly what should I do with this?" The Prime said as he hefted the large sign over his shoulder. "Never mind, I'll just make sure it never hurts anyone again."

"My... SIGN! GIVE IT BACK YOU STINKY OLD PRIME!" The man who was considerably older complained and shook his fist helplessly at the sky-scaling man. That hunk of advertising cost me a lot of gold!"

Buuuut Gildarts was already hovering off the coast a little ways out and times like these in the anime always called for a flamboyant use of power.

Yes. Gildarts was going to punch it into oblivion.
