Blugh. Jade scuffs her ruby red slippers on the stone steps distractedly, mumbling under her breath as she continues to send out a bunch of messages over her memo. She hopes Karkat will return soon so she will at least have someone concrete to speak to! As for another thing, she has yet to even talk to Gamzee in person, so she’s kind of excited about speaking to the fabled juggalo troll at last!

An unexpected, odd feeling trickles up Jade’s spine, like a cup of tingling ice water has just been poured over her back from the nape of her neck. It’s like— like some kind of gravitational pull, urging her to crane her neck to the side to see something, something totally momentous and noteworthy.

Taking her eyes off of what is going on in the ring for but a moment, the red shuttering of Time powers dancing about in her peripheral vision, Jade turns to cautiously squint at the guy who has just unceremoniously sagged down onto the seat beside her. He’s wearing a long black coat with a hood pulled down low over most his smiling face; the material is soft and faintly fuzzy, like her modified god-tier pajamas.

She doesn’t recognize him at all.

Could I kick this guy’s ass if he’s not very nice? she asks herself, her expression mostly collected in the face of his unfazed smile. Becquerel snuffles loudly from behind her at being so easily forgotten, placing his head in her lap for a few head-scritches while he continues to survey potentially threatening spectators. She happily provides them, trying to divide her attention between two things at once and ultimately failing in doing so.

Canting her head quizzically to the side, Jade notes that the guy is breathing heavily after walking down, like, thirty steps or something. Her fuzzy white dog ears twitch lightly, lips plucking up into a slight buck-toothed grin that betrays nothing of this thought process and only succeeds in probably making her seem a little silly. Yeah. I could totally kick this guy’s ass.

Then, she registers his outfit more clearly. Most importantly, the white spiral design emblazoned across his chest that is so similar in appearance to the one fixed to the corner of her sparkly coat. Suddenly, everything about this guy practically screams Space player.

His words circulate through her mind a tad belatedly, and Jade scrunches up her eyebrows for a moment, trying desperately to recall them to the forefront of her mind. She ends up staring quite obviously at his shoes, which are the same delightful red as her own. They aren't as sparkly as hers, but they're a Space player's, alright.

“Oh, I guess it is, yeah,” Jade utters, and blinks up at him curiously, green eyes widening prominently behind her glasses. Then, to make sure that he gets that she’s actually seeing something important here, she blinks again. “Who were you, again? Wait! Don’t tell me! You’re that one guy! The… the guy! I don’t know your real name, but you’re egregiousInquisitor, right? What a mouthful! You’re Adam’s pal, huh?”

Jade glances around for Karkat and Gamzee real quick, ears pricked smartly up and listening for any indistinct honking that could possibly be singled out from the rest of the crowd’s jibber jabber. Alas, it is not so! She just can’t seem to find them. With a small pout, Jade turns back to speak to egregiousInquisitor.

“My other friends are around here somewhere,” she laments, patting Bec’s ears down flat. “They’re trolls, you know? Cool candy corn horns. I would have really liked for everyone to meet up together, but with Adam trying not to die and Karkat trying to keep Gamzee from dying as well…. well, it’s all one big mess! But I’m glad you’re here, at least, nameless person!”

She gestures wildly around at nothing and everything in equal increments, tangled hair spilling about her shoulders as she does so. Her twin-tailed god-tier hood sluggishly struggles to keep up with her excitement from where it is draped over Becquerel’s back. “What’s your name, by the way? You already know mine, so it’s only fair that we do the proper exchange now!” she says to him, as earnest as can be.
