1) how long does it generally take? (I thought I read somewhere it takes an hour? Can't find that thread anymore.)

According to the rules, you can summon a secondary in about 15 minutes.

2) generally what kind of Stat spread do they start with? (10 like me? Or half?)

Strictly speaking they don't need or usually have any stats listed unless you'd like them to help out in a saga/judged fight. In that case they'd be an Assist and the points you can work with would depend on which tier of Assist you have. If you'd like to have some stats listed for fun, you can do 10 if you'd like (Retane has a gallery in his Roster with these values), but I'd go with 5 as that's the baseline for tier-1 assists (which is what I assume you're probably thinking of).
