Colosseum - Spectator Thread
#21
A pair of Colosseum medical staff men came running into the arena with a pallet, only to realize that they could hardly lift the dragoness who was passed out after her fight and in danger of bleeding out, let alone heave her onto the pallet to bring her to the hospital area. However one of them had a Communicator for emergencies like these, and a quick call arranged an additional four men as well as a steel-reinforced pallet to put her on.

"That's gotta be the biggest Prime I've seen so far." one of them remarked as they heaved her up and carried her.
"You can admire her when we've got her healed up, now keep walking or she'll bleed out!" another one replied.
"Why the fuss? She's a damn Prime. We coulda left her there to die and she'd come back."
"Because we get PAID to not let them die! And besides, a bloodied corpse dampens the spectator's moods." On the other hand, several were boo-ing and pointing their thumbs downwards when Courier left the dragoness knocked out rather than killing her - they wanted to see blood. The vast majority though cheered for Courier instead.

Minutes later the team arrived in the hospital tents that were set up near the Colosseum to bring the fighters to. Courier might even be here as well, but in a different part of it. They placed Alexyana onto a bedding on the ground and began to treat her injuries. Because she had done some basic treatment for both she wasn't going to bleed out as they had feared, but the treatment was no easy task either.
"The pincers! There's scales stuck here!"
"Disinfectant!"
"Stabilize, stabilize!"
"Careful there!"
"Someone clean her, I can't see with all this blood!"
"More bandages!"
"You missed her bracelet, man! I can't properly wrap up her arm!"
"Can't take it off, that thing's stuck to her with magic or something!"

And so on. But, within a fair hour of work they had patched her up, bandaged her chest, stomach and arm, treated the injury on her maw with valuable medi-gel and disinfected her injuries to avoid infections. Who knows what state Courier's knife and shotgun shells might have been in, they could have been rusty or dirty. However, once she was properly taken care of her state rapidly stabilized and they left her to sleep there.

It took the dragoness over six hours to wake up. When she did, she stirred in her sleep at first, then slowly came to and finally sat up on her bed."Ghh... where the hell...?" Her memory was sort of blanked out for a bit, she had a vague sense of time so she could tell that it wasn't long since she had fought Courier - and lost. Yes, she could remember her memory blanking out after Courier had shot her again. She probably had landed another headshot that had knocked her out. She couldn't remember having landed any final hit, and if she had won she wouldn't be left somewhere like this. The fights barely allowed for any time of recovery.
Well, either way... she looked around while feeling herself up. The spot on her head where the sniper bullet had hit her throbbed but that'd be okay. Her clothes laid on a table next to her and she had bandages covering her injuries - mostly her belly - and a blanket to cover her up. She checked how she was doing, but found that most of her injuries were very well treated and didn't hurt. Not that she would force her luck by moving about too much, of course.

"Wish I'd had the time to congratulate her..." Somehow she didn't feel angry about her loss. Well, somehow - she had never intended to win the tournament, though of course making it past the first round would have been nice. She wanted to meet people, enjoy the tournament from the spectator seats and - oh! If the fights were going on still, she was going to miss out on them! The next rounds probably had started already, she had to go fast if she wanted to catch the sights! She heaved herself to her feet and put on her clothing. The bracelet was on her arm, they hadn't been able to take that off - it was enchanted to prevent people from just that, after all. Well! Time to move to the spectator ranks. She ensured that the bandages were properly set in place, though she doubted that she'd need to wear them for much longer. They probably had magic-trained medical staff around here to treat the gladiators or something.

Just as she was about to leave the tent, two men in leathery clothing came in and blocked the exit. They smelled like they needed a wash and, though they had no visible armament, Alexyana found the faint scent of metal about them. They were looking at her in a way that she did not like, at all. "'Scuse me." she said, acting as if she wanted to pass by them while unaware of the lurking danger, but the right one stepped closer to his friend and blocked the way completely.
"You ain't goin' anywhere, lass."
"Are you going to keep me from it?"
"Better shut your ugly maw", the other one said. "We ain't joking around."
"Aye. You caused a lot of ruckus in the Colosseum, ya know that? Being a dragon and such?"
"Let me guess. You want to use the moment while I'm weakened to teach me a lesson."
"Heh. You catch on quick, lass..." The first man reached for his concealed stiletto, but as his hand wrapped around the hilt the dragoness rushed forward and caught them both by surprise. Neither had expected her to move this fluently after having taken a beating in the Colosseum. She slammed her open palms onto their faces and foreheads, catapulting them out of the tent. The slam and hitting their backs on the ground hurt of course, but Alexyana was careful to not actually injure them.
"I don't want any trouble with you. Stay away from me if you know what's good for you and I'll forget about this matter."
"Gnh... don't think you'll get away with this!" One of them scuttled to his feet but froze when he realized that outside of the tent they were in plain view. Attacking here would undoubtedly attract the attention of Camelot guardsmen and visitors. He snarled. "You win today... but you ain't seen the last of us! Filthy monsters like yourself don't deserve to walk among us, let alone call yourself Primes! You stain this land just by being there! You should be in the Underverse, where you belong!" While throwing his insults he pulled his friend to his feet and then hurried off with him, disappearing into the crowd. Alexyana raised an eyebrow but shrugged.
"Dragon hunters everywhere... but what did he say about the Underverse? Must be some sort of abyss where all the aberrations come from around here..." Speaking of which, she needed a means of discovering information. She'd seen a few people use items to conjure up pictures and rows of text info into the air before them, perhaps she could make up something similar... but, for now she made herself a handful of coins and went on a little shopping spree to get herself what the carnival's food stores had to offer.

Ten minutes after that she moved into the spectator ranks and sat down with a cardboard bucket full of packed delicacies. She started out with this thing the vendor had called corndog and began to eat as she scouted the arena for Courier. Wait... the arena had changed! There were weapons, but... huh, there were demon-like items on one side of it, and stuff that vaguely reminded her of magitech but then again looked much more peculiar on the other. Demon-like items... was there some sort of Hell around here too? A hellish landscape perhaps? She had no idea... another thing to ask about as soon as she'd get the chance. But, back to focusing... she noticed Courier just in time to see her landing a blow on her opponent, a white being with a sword and shield. She cheered loudly for her, along with several other spectators which had become her fans after the fight against the dragoness, then sunk back into her chair and pulled out a caramel-coated apple. She was liking the food around here more by the minute...
