The machine hadn't met up with him yet, so Xehanort assumed that either the battle still raged in other parts of the town or the body of his former master had yet to be confirmed dead. He didn't necessarily mind in either case. There wasn't the barrel of a blaster shoved against Xehanort's back and pockets of hostile resistance slowly being drawn out and eradicated. It was safe to say the majority of the bandit forces were indeed beaten and turned away. Anymore confrontations this day weren't ideal. Xehanort didn't wish to risk getting hurt. Taking time to heal would take even more time needed to establish a base of operations.
As Xehanort trod along the dirt road of the town, townspeople began to reveal themselves, coming out of hiding or cover, and slowly resumed their daily activities. Many turned a blind eye to the obvious newcomer, but those who didn't barraged the pale haired man with their stares. Some even made initial moves to confront him, thinking him of a bandit before their buddies stopped them, seeing him unarmed and walking from the opposite direction than the enemies came from.
Xehanort stopped and brought his dust covered sleeve to wipe the built up sweat from his brow. The day was burning hot and strong, its bright star burning high in the sky. He found it hard to breath from the heat. He simply wasn't used to this type of weather. No, he preferred the coolness of Radiant Garden's laboratories, the temperature akin to various caves he'd visited. This was like walking on the surface of the sun. It would have been much worse if he hadn't discarded his lab-coat. It would be wise to seek water, drink, anything.
The white haired man spotted various shops, but his best assumption of where water would be best found would be the bar. Xehanort approached the building, slowly stepping towards the door. Two men armed with small pistols and a hardened face stood next to the doorway, seemingly on guard. The gold colored star-shaped badges attached to their shirts indicated they were a part of some kind of security force, perhaps similar in function to Radiant Garden's guards. He brought his hands up and pushed the door open slowly. Some men started to glance at the newcomer, and snapped their heads to the bar as the loud report of a gunshot rang and the sound of broken glass scattered throughout the room.
'Convenient' , Xehanort thought as he used the attention to grab a seat at the bar, two seats to the right of the center of the attention. The man behind the bar didn't look in particularly happy, nor did he acknowledge his newest customer. Xehanort sighed and rested an open hand upon the smooth oak surface of the bar, concentrating lightly, he summoned a pair of thick silver coins, each stamped with a plain three pronged crown, a common symbol of his home-world. Tension in the room eased and the eyes of the man running the bar.
"One coin for water, the other to compensate for the bottle that man destroyed"
The man took the coins and weighed them in his hands to determine their authenticity. The coins were rather large, being three and a half inches in diameter and a centimeter thick. The man's face tensed and a brow raised as his eyes scanned them. He didn't recognize the mark, this much was apparent.
"This...is rather much for a single glass of water. You sure you want only water?"
"Yes...", he said lightly, his eyes scanning over the various bottles. Whiskey? Rum? Gin? Various other names were emblazoned upon different types of glass bottles, though none of them he recognized. The man brought a less than clean glass of clear liquid to Xehanort, but it'll have to do.
He turned on his bar-stool towards the man who commanded the attention of the entire bar, and listened in to what the man had to say. Roland spoke only what Xehanort had expected all along. This place, this... world, was a prison of sorts. There was only one way in, but perhaps that was the same way out. This Omni fellow was the epicenter of all this madness.
The man was interrupted again by the same brute who wanted to test his weapon, spouting out various terms such as Oververse and Underverse. They were more likely other planes of existence but the red-skinned man's comparisons didn't really help Xehanort. Assuming from the names themselves, this... prison... was probably a world wedged in between the Realms of Light and Darkness, which can explain why there wasn't a proper escape. Even if it were true, Xehanort would not accept it. The entirety of his efforts is simply to find the equilibrium between the two elemental bases to all of creation. To be dragged to this place without effort on Xehanort's part was simply unacceptable, and yet as a probable explanation it had to be.
The man in white couldn't imagine what to research if not that.
He sighed and gazed over the group in which the brute resided, and nearly all of them struck Xehanort as something, different than that of the common rabble here in this town. The Red-skinned man seemed to be radiating with fear and yet showed none of it. This fear seemed to flow in direct paths from various places throughout the stranger's body, from the heart, mind, and... his hand. Why the hand he couldn't say for certain, his vision partially blocked by the others. The brute toying with its new toy overflowed with a dark power. A small light radiated from the heart of this brute.powerful, but not powerful enough to break free of the chains of darkness binding it down. Xehanort didn't feel pity for the man. It is the mark of someone standing too close to the light without being strong enough to defend against the dark power that follows close behind him. The other held a completely different power altogether that originated from the body rather than heart. It was strange to see, yet familiar at the same time.
With all of these people here with obviously different abilities, it could be possible they were pulled here as well. It might be wise to speak with them later.
