Well, you said that even if you lose the fight IC you can win it OoC, right?
Then I'd say the best way out of that scenario isn't to try to get out at all, but to own the hell out of it and focus on describing just how badly you get your butt kicked as your character helplessly struggles or something...
...or was that something I took out of context?
