The resonating baritone of a gong of all things was what had Ururu on edge, or at least appeared to be when that curtain of something solidified around her; cutting her off from the eyes and ears she had left in amongst the audience. It was only a momentary flinch that struck her, but few things could cause that reaction in her in the first place. Like the same feeling she had when she first came in contact in with a Gate.
Impossibilities like that were what this world was made up of; now she had to face something else that she had thought impossible.
Well more like improbable and it was situated across the field. An inorganic lifeform. Unknown.
Ururu took a deep breath and centered her thoughts from being scientific. There would be time for that later. Now she needed to be the Rogue, and it showed in how her body tensed. Her eyes mapping out the arena and the architect in her found the closest hiding place. Or rather a visual obstruction.
In an instant, her tenseness was unleashed into movement. A diagonal dash that fell into a roll took her from view, the light and into the shade where she belonged. All the while her wrists flicked to bring about claws that wasted no time by twisting into pain inducing shapes.
Hanmyo with me! Commanded Ururu internally as she dived into the Network that existed within this field.
The roll brought her crashing against the stone wall’s face as her chakra laced fingers conjured a clone replica that formed bent into a crouch beside her. Only dimly aware of such things, Ururu instead found herself tumbling into the synapses of the newly wrought grey-matter, her mind expanding with only a brief sense of what she had left behind.
Shaded light streamed into her newborn eyes, allowing her to note the real body as it curled up in concentration. But that was all she spared herself. Literally.
Well-honed muscle flexed at her command into a vault over the obstruction. She was careful not show off the ease she had at clearing such height, opting instead to barely pass over the top.
Withering Rogue was a style that focused on deceit, guerrilla tactics, speed, and dramatic shifts in pace and angle at the best possible times. This was no different as she flew forward from the barricade in a staccato of steps and determination.
It was pure rapture as the wind bit across her cheeks followed by… snow?
Humming to herself playfully and surprise Ururu made note of the beginnings of her opponent’s theme but didn’t hesitate to follow through into the brewing storm. Her path after all was as straight as the field allowed her, no pause, no protest, just living momentum and a joy of speed.
In those last seconds of movement, her visibility had shortened dramatically. Wisps of chilled hinting at just what she could expect as this progressed.
Cold. Potential deadly.
Before this weather manipulation saw her freezing, blinded or at least slowing down, Ururu made her move. Vaulting over another barricade, her feet caught its edge and the slightest bit of chakra gave her more purchase than it otherwise would have in allowing the girl to launch downward.
Trailing cloudy puffs of respiration, Ururu slammed into the floor, sprung and brought her hands to bear as fingers raked their tungsten carbide tips across the robot’s torso.
It was a sound worse than anything her academy chuunin-sensei had ever subjected her class to within those walls adorned with chalk boards and blunted weapons. Metal against metal, sparks trailing as rapidly dying embers within the arctic wind-
Focus you idiot.
Thankful at least that she wasn’t going alliterative in her study and response to the situation; Ururu used what little surprise she had left in her airborne ricochet to twist her feet and then her body into the upper-earthen wall.
The same trick that gave her purchase earlier upon the barricade gave it to her now as chakra and pure back muscle held her crouched horizontal, facing the metallic being’s back. Chakra walking was a skill that gave them advantage in anchoring themselves to almost any terrain feature.
Like Ururu to the trench’s side.
It also allotted her an extra degree of force when she was able to put her back, legs and arms of the Clone into jabbing her fingered claws at the prone metallic backside.
Her retreat from the indent was a feint.
