Are you lost? Are you scared? Are you unmotivated? Are you lonely and sad and all kinds of other things that you shouldn't be as a member of the Omniverse?
Think of this thread as a means to try and solicit some help. Do you need a story idea but none of the faction or solo quests appeal to you? Are you looking someone to write with? Maybe you have an open thread (make sure to use the [Open] prefix to help label yourself) and you want to further advertise? This is the thread for you. Here you can post an 'advert' to an open thread. Just give an idea what it's about, and you might be able to entice some people to join you.
Or maybe you just are really struggling to think of a story. It's okay. It happens to all of us, whether we've been here a while or joined last week. Just post here asking for help creating a story. Just give us (your peers) an idea about what type of character you are, where you are, and what you might like to write. A staff member or even a member-member can help you out.
Random aside, but remember that you can always change the titles of your posts to further identify what you need help with and to alert people who might be sitting bored in the shoutbox wishin' they had someone to help guide and motivate.
Good luck and happy hunting.

Repeatable Quests
Predator or Prey
Location: Temple, deep in the The Frozen Fields
Deep in the wasteland called the Frozen Fields is a temple, nestled between two huge mountains. Only those with significant knowledge of the landscape of the Fields even know that it exists, and even then actually getting to it can be particularly dangerous.
The temple is actually a Pyramid, and the legend passed through the dwarves and trolls suggest it houses hordes of treasure. Broadcasts through the Dataverse call upon anyone who would call themself a true treasure to come and brave the ruins.
If you do decide to go treasure-hunting in the Pyramid, you will find yourself caught in a game. Three Predators, alien creatures whose only purpose in life is to hunt for sport, are using the Pyramid and the traps inside as the battleground for their twisted game. As for whether or not there actually IS a treasure, nobody has ever actually found out.
Ice Climbers (Partner Story!)
Location: Small nomad village deep into the verse - Frozen Fields
In the Frozen Fields, a small collection of nomads has settled down at the foot of the mountain. They hope that they can carve out an existence in this harsh environment and serve as a foothold for future development of the region.
Unfortunately, they’ve realized that this is a truly life-threatening place. Their food supplies—hardy vegetables designed to grow and last in the cold—have been stolen by the followers of a villainous condor who resides at the top of a nearby mountain. They need some help and are so happy when you and your partner arrive at their destitute village.
They provide you with gear to guard against the cold and special hammers to carve through the thick ice on the way up. Climb the monster-infested mountain to defeat the condor and get back their food supply!
Ashen Lullaby
Location: Ruins of Death Mountain (Ashen Steppes)
Volvagia is gone. Death Mountain has crumbled, and the Goron Village is no more.
Even so, the 'ghost' of Volvagia looms over the region. Remnants of Volvagia's brood linger, and while none rival the might of their maker, many are still threats to travelers, nomads, and explorers.
Several of the drake's brood have been seen entering caves deep within what remains of Death Mountain with captive koopas, gorons, or whoever else they can get their hands on. It is assumed that they are being fed to the great beast, or some purpose that is somehow more awful. Facing the drake lord on your own would be suicide, but perhaps you can learn the goings-on within the volcano? What horrible task have the drakes been working on? How will you stop them? And, most importantly, will you live to tell the tale?
They Said I was Mad!
Location:Costa del Sol + Isla Nublar
A flyer hanging on a wall in Costa del Sol will take you to a bland-looking man who will take you out onto the ocean.
Ten miles off the coast of Costa del Sol lies a small freight vessel. Seemingly a derelict, the only sign of activity is a small speed-boat that comes and goes at irregular hours. Inside this rotting hulk lies the laboratory of the disgraced Imperial researcher, Doctor Charn. Once a rising star in Doctor Gero's genetic research labs, his lack of decency (by Imperial standards, for the record) during his reptilian/human experiments, coupled with a complete lack of political sense, spelled the end of his promising career.
For two years following his expulsion from the Empire, he has slaved away in secrecy, driven by a near-psychotic desire to prove his theories correct, and regain his DIGNITY as a SCIENTIST!!!
Now, his work is almost complete. He needs one more thing - a living velociraptor mongoliensis. Unfortunately, the good doctor is not in the best of shape, having locked himself away on a boat for twenty-four months. Furthermore, he's still sane enough to realize he'd rather not be murdered by dinosaurs. So he's looking for some patsy- er, 'lab assistants', to go and procure him the specimen he needs.
Meet the doctor's assistant at the docs, and he will take you to Doctor Charn. If you're interested, the doctor will provide you with a boat, a map to the island, and some basic raptor-catching equipment. From there, it is up to you to travel to Isla Nublar, penetrate the island's interior, and capture a live velociraptor. This will not, of course, be easy. The island is over-run with Cretaceous-era super-predators, not to mention ultra-therapods such as the brontosaurs, dangerous in their own right due to their sheer size.
To make things more entertaining, the vicious and cunning velociraptor is a pack-hunter. After your chat with the doctor, you must go to Isla Nublar, get the raptor, and get back with all your vital parts attached. Accomplish that, and the doctor may share with you the fruits of his life's labor (scales and chitinous protuberances may occur... he assures you that the effects are temporary)
Fail, and you'll be just one more fool consumed by the island.
Flowers for Thrug
Location: Hidden Temple/Various (Tangled Green)
At the Hidden Temple is a pleasant orc botanist. His name is Thrug, and he likes flowers. As of late, he’s had some difficulty finding any new species to catalog and investigate. Unfortunately for Thrug, he doesn’t trust the cultists at the temple to take care of his plants.
He is, however, more than willing to compensate someone for heading out into the more remote regions of the Tangled Green to acquire a new flower for him. He’ll even provide you with a pot to transplant it into (live samples only! Thrug can’t study dead things).
Gold Cross Volunteers
Location: Nippur/Various
With Gilgamesh gone and many of its champions unaccounted for, Nippur has been a place teetering on the brink of collapse. The central bureaucracy left behind by the gilded king has tried to keep order with varying levels of success.
The city is in desperate need of food, clean water, and other amenities (blankets, clean clothes, et cetera) due to a disruption of trade routes into its hinterland. Many of the merchants organized into an unofficial organization hoping to bring more attention to the needs of the city. The members of the Gold Cross are willing to part with prized personal possessions to motivate kind outsiders to help their city bring in much-needed supplies.
A Fox in the Teahouse
Location: The small fiefdom in northern Camelot ruled by Date Masamune
You arrive in town and see an advertisement for a tea ceremony in a local botanical garden. It sounds like an exciting or at least interesting experience, with a bathhouse and plenty of herbal teas to sample. Green teas, roasted or steamed leaf teas... all the teas a tea connoisseur can dream of, small cakes and cookies included. Stay the night, there are plenty of rooms available!
Unfortunately, this tea nirvana cannot last. A member of the garden staff screams in the wee hours of the morning— someone has been found brutally murdered! The owner of the teahouse is in hysterics. It's up to you to get to the bottom of it!
But be careful. Legend tells of an angry fox spirit that resents the placement of its sacred hot spring inside the bathhouse....
Water under the Bridge
Location: Camelot (Outlying Human Duchy)
As of late, a select number of farmers on the outskirts of Camelot have noticed that goats, pigs and even cattle are beginning to go missing. A spreading rumor points towards the nearby woodland, where an ugly river troll reportedly lives beneath a bridge. The farmers would go after it themselves with torches and pitchforks, but a visiting group of naturalists argue that the troll is sensible and can be convinced to cease its unlawful behavior.
The naturalists have hired you to rescue the troll before the angry humans take matters into their own hands.
Bounty Board - Monster Hunter I
Location: Minas Tirith + Northern mountains
The bounty board in Minas Tirith is often littered with the worst rogues in society. On this particular day, you find a posting that seeks a ‘monster hunter’ to track down a gorgon in the northern mountains. The pay is much better than anything you’d get trying to find purse cutters, but because of the paycheck, you might not be alone in your pursuits of the creature.
https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/564...1432e.jpg
A dangerous cursed woman with snakes for hair and a gaze that, if met, turns someone into a stone statue. Player must find a workaround and kill her without looking her in the eyes. Bring her head back to turn in the bounty with a Kingdom NPC.
It’s Always Rats
Location: Camelot (Minas Tirith)
For whatever reason, the simple sewer system that runs throughout Minas Tirith’s lowest level is often plagued by overgrown rats. Usually, it’s something that the town guard can handle, but as of late, the issue has seemed to balloon out of hand. The guards are looking for someone capable enough to head down there and perform some extermination.
Human Diplomacy
Location: An Outlying Human Duchy (Camelot)
You arrive in a small, feudal town in the outlying regions of Camelot. Far from Minas Tirith, the men (and occasionally woman) who wield power in these autonomous fiefdoms are free to flex their muscles as they see fit in regards to their ‘peers.’ Every now and again, one county or duchy will make a move on one other, and given the delicate balance, these moves are often done through outside agents.
You stroll into such a town and find such a document soliciting special services. You are needed to intercept and burn some trade wagons carrying vital supplies to the Count/Countess or Duke/Duchesses rival. Get the job done without implicating them.
One Hundred Problems
Location: Tier 2
James Hamilton is a very busy bureaucrat working for a lovely, lucrative company headquartered on Tier 2. A family man and a company man, he is a model citizen. A man with a hard work ethic and drive for bettering himself, he’s also a man with more than his fair share of issues. Chief among those is an old mistress, Jennifer Mills, who he’s had to pay to keep quiet about their sordid past.
Always one to frequent social establishments, Hamilton has been putting out ‘feelers’ in a search for someone to ‘help him out.’
You get the picture, right?
Gun Running
Location: Coruscant (Tier 5, 6, and/or 7)
Description: Tiers Five and Six are rife with crime and gangs . There is also a rich 'culture' of gun and tech smuggling. Mobsters and would-be thugs are constantly looking for cheap labor to transport contraband material, usually between tiers. The work is never safe and may result in altercations with rival groups and central authorities (a Bounty).
The Hero This City Needs
Location: Coruscant (Tier 5 or 6)
Tiers Five and Six are plagued with crime. Whether its fights in nightclubs, shady deals in dark alleys, shakedowns at liquor stores, or illicit activity within seedy hotels, the violence is almost omnipresent at times. Sometimes somebody tries to be a hero, and the mobsters and various 'street warlords' don't take kindly to heroes.
The Hunter and the Hunted
Location: Coruscant (Tier 5)
There are bodies in the streets of Coruscant, and its getting worse every day. There is a cloud of paranoia and suspicion at every turn. The police are helpless, the criminals are tense, and families huddle in their houses in fear.
A serial killer is on the loose.
The Rejected
Location: Coruscant (Tier 7)
The most evil, violent offenders in Coruscant are the subjects of horrible Imperial science experiments. When they are broken in body or mind, rejected by citizens and government alike, they are sent to a holding facility called Serenity Retreat in the darkest parts of Teir-7. Now Serenity Retreat, part prison part experimental medical ward, is rioting.
The prisoners have taken over half of Serenity Retreat, under the direction of a charismatic leader. They have weapons. They have hostages. And they want to go free.
Blood In, Blood Out
Location: Coruscant (Tier 5 or 6)
Membership in a criminal street gang offers many perks; drugs, money, parties, and a sense of family. For some, the allure is strong enough that they are willing to kill or be killed for their gang.
Smuggling
Location: Tiers 3 or 4 + 6 or 7 + 5
Because you’ve established yourself as an efficient gun runner, you’ve gained the attention of someone a little further up on the organized crime ladder. They want you to handle the transit of some slightly more ‘lucrative’ cargo from one tier to the next. On top of that, they want you to make the drop-off in a far more dangerous location (ie more cops, more cameras, more threat to your well-being).
After being contacted by your employer, you’ll have to report to the pickup point on Tier 6 or 7. Once you’ve got the ‘parcel,’ you’ll need to make the delivery to Tier 3 or 4. Along the way, you can expect some sort of difficulty, given the fact that rival gangs or organizations are going to want to take you out and claim whatever product their foes are trying to smuggle through Coruscant. You will have to get through at least one security checkpoint, and the way you handle that will have consequences.
If you make it to the drop-off point, you’ll be contacted via the handheld phone to report to a location on Tier 5. Once there, you’ll receive either your cut of the money or a sample of the goods you were moving.
Twisted Metal (Partner Story!)
Location: Tier 4 (Coruscant)
F-Zero races have always had a specific niche. In an effort to branch out, the owners of the shell corporation running the majority of the races have decided to create a whole new type of race that many claim is motivated by the success of the Dante’s Abyss in bringing in a waterfall of revenue to a previously unknown company.
In these new ‘races,’ the F-Zero machines used will be bigger, stronger, and equipped with weapons. Instead of one driver, there will be two individuals responsible for piloting the machines. The race track is gone, and in its place, they’ve created a large mockup of Tier 5, complete with the intersection of 7th Street and Broadway Avenue at its center.
You are no longer trying to win the race by beating your opponents around the track. The goal here is to disable your adversary’s F-Zero machines by whatever means feasible. Each machine has its own built in weapons, and there are various additional weapons and ammo littered around the ‘race area.’ Do what you have to do to win. Be wary of Sweetums—a former convict whose F-Zero machine is a derelict-looking ice cream truck packed to the brim with enough firepower to level a city block.[/spoiler]
