Just keep in mind that the vast majority of the structures in Coruscant, especially Tier 1, are skyscrapers, so getting to an area that you can jump across might be tricky. Possible? Absolutely. Easy? No.
For the time being, the snipers that surround the block you guys are on will only attack you if you attempt to LEAVE the block. Also, they are snipers, so they are pretty darn far away. The two that got shot by Crash and Stuart might have been in a poor position, but a little more effort will likely be needed to kill the others.
If you ARE running, just by being able to look out and see the world, you would know that the shortest and safest path of egress is back through the Gate into the Nexus. That does not guarantee the pursuit will end there, but it's the fastest way you can currently see to escape.
