"They just had to come and ruin it..." The demon mumbled after the scolding given by the Gorons. Even though the mission they were sent on was extremely dangerous, the close they got to their destination, the more excited he'd become. So when the same people that told them about the dragon in the first place came and told them not to continue, it was a little annoying. But it seemed even Shulk agreed, as he began heading back to the place they came from pretty soon after the lecturing ended. Rin was a little disappointed that he decided to leave on his own, but he still had one other person that he's met since coming to the Omniverse. And thankfully, she seemed to know a little more about it than Shulk and himself.
Rin gave Ruby a little time after the gorons left to figure out what she was doing, or see if she had anything to say as well, then he would ask, "Soooo, it seems that Shulk is gone now, mind if I travel with you for a while?" The worst thing he could see happening, is Ruby deciding to travel alone as well. This would leave the demon without any knowledge of what lead where, who was hostile, and any other kind of important information that could potentially get him killed. Not that he just needed the knowledge she likely had, he just didn't want to get lonely, especially since the gorons likely wouldn't appreciate his company as much as they would've.
The demon looked at the path they traveled to get to where they were. It was seriously a pain in the ass that, just when they were about to get to where they needed to be, they were told to turn back. There was no telling what kind of creatures they would have to fight just to get back to the bottom, and even if there weren't any they'd still have to deal with the dangerous land scape and irritatingly high temperatures. Maybe he'd try and create a popsicle for the trip... A nice cold popsicle sounded like a good idea in this kind of heat.
