Uncharted

“Hope you’re alright with pushing on without sleep. People who stop in this valley and decide that there’s time for just ‘one hour’ of shuteye are usually those whom get the worst fate. Our numbers are small but it is best we continue through the night.”

They had encountered a group of bandits, which her companion single-handedly defeated without so much as an unruffled hair. The bandits -to the immoral man’s mind- seemed predictable, unlike the beasts of darkness and the groups of cannibals that had yet to make themselves known.

Caira nodded in response, not wanted to create any extra sound. They had been traveling for more hours than she could count, but the shade had made the extended hours bearable.
