Ash, huh? Interesting name for an imitation demon. Jaixe mused, recognizing that the both of them didn’t even have surnames to offer. How intriguingly coincidental... “Very well, Ash, you may call me Jaixe,” he answered in kind to the blue-skinned woman, taking his position on the other side of the first corpse to toss aside into the abyss below.
“Your wound will heal fairly soon, though you will need a new change of clothes. Much as I’m sure you’re attached to that… intriguing choice of attire.” Jaixe explained to Ash, as the two picked up the reeking, charred body of the first ragged thug and threw him over the railing. No sound accompanied his fall into the abyss, as expected, and they spent the next ten minutes repeating the process several times, with Jaixe simply using his beams to incinerate the corpses on the other walkway opposite of them.
The cleanup didn’t take very long overall, much to Jaixe’s thankfulness. Such tedious and filthy work was annoying, but necessary. Ultimately, he still passed blame to Ash for the whole ordeal, but didn’t voice such aloud.
“The Archives of Ultan,” Jaixe started again after finishing their work, answering the question that Ash put forward earlier, “are a less strictly-regulated source of knowledge, where the other library is considerably more censored.” He explained with a degree of patience he hadn’t had before. He began walking down the path they were originally set on before they were so rudely interrupted.
“As to what my course of action will be from there, well, that is something left to be debated.”
