Destination: Desperation

Jaixe observed the woman inspecting her injury, and the odd shape of her blade. Her powers were intriguingly unique, to be sure, though he wondered what the woman’s potential was like in this world. Or how much she even knew, given that she seemed to be unconcerned about the injury she sustained. After all, Omnilium passively heals the injuries of the holder, so there would be no need for concern over a small wound such as that. But she probably didn’t know that and was merely acting brave for some foolish reason, Jaixe concluded.

We, huh? If you must know, our goal is the Archives of Ultan. However, we should cover our tracks a little more cleanly.” Jaixe responded casually, also unconcerned about the injury she sustained but, rather, he was more concerned over the fact that she had blood staining her clothes. He also noted that it was red with peculiarity, but didn’t comment on the matter. “I’d rather not whatever token security lingers around here to be haunting us at every step for cleaning the street of vermin. I’d also rather not deal with questions arising from your injury.” He stated a little sharply at her insistence at maintaining her impertinent attitude about the circumstances.

“Furthermore, you still haven’t given me your name,” Jaixe continued, “I can hardly call you an ally if I don’t even know what to refer to you as besides imitation demon.”

Another car passed, this time much slower than the others and not irritating the litter as much with its fly-by. Apparently not every person was in such a rush, though Jaixe was thankful that they were still flying past too quickly to accurately make out the scene that transpired here. That, and the dim lighting helped as well. Though, when Jaixe looked around him, he figured that it was really the fact that the would-be bandits looked like rust and garbage if seen from a distance and blurred as well.

Of course, in reality, it would be more accurate to say that nobody really cares about what happens on the walkways of the fifth tier or lower…
