Ash has been busy for the past couple of days, getting into all kinds of trouble. It was her specialty really. Even before all of this, it was hard for her to fit into groups of people, hard to get along with other's, hard for other people to accept her. Either it was her looks, her attitude, or the self-skin-saving actions over throwing herself into the bullet storm for someone she barely knew.. And really, who the heck even did that? Was the omniverse full of hero's or what? Well not her. Especially when no one's shown any real agenda to save her skin.
Even now she was up a creek without a paddle. Ok.. Maybe she didn't have a motor for the sinking ship she was riding in on, but she had sails. She had a runner, and a steering wheel. She was just headed for the whirlpool, and it looked like it might rain. But it could just be a cloudy day. Really it was just how you looked at things.
What she did exactly to have two men chasing her through a sewer tunnel, was a long story. One that was about to fill this page. The city keepers weren't very happy to find out a tiefling not only jumped off a railing in front of millions of people, but she some how broke some unspoken law to stay within the lines of the coloring book. So while it wasn't bounty worthy, they didn't like her so much anymore. They probably didn't like her even more for catching a pole on the way down with The Claw, nor did they appreciate the perfect 10 any other judge out there would have given her for sticking the landing after the show of athletic skills she did. She imagines looking a lot like a circus performer that day.
There was a bit of chase, but they seemed to care a lot less the further down she went. The sirens died down behind her, and a far more familiar sound and sight appeared before her. It even smelled familiar. It smelt like the sweat and tears of the people who bare the weight of this place on their shoulders. It sounded like gang wars for limited territory which passed hands every decade. It looked.. Like home.
Her old life had her in a cramp apartment with a bed, a bean bag, and a tiny table with a stool. She had a fridge, a bathroom, and a dresser. The television was built into the wall, and she brought along her PC from moving out of her parents. In short, she had a whole lot of nothing, and almost no where to go. So the lower tiers of Coruscant spoke to her on a deep level. But it also reminded her of the hellhole she's already crawled out of.
That's when she landed herself a meeting with Titan, some upstart who was ready to lay down the law of the underworld. He came looking for a fight, but came unarmed. No.. The two beefy body guards, covered in faded green tattoos who were cracking their knuckles, sucking their teeth, and chewing on something foul didn't count. He demanded compensation, payment for all the resources he believed she used without his permission. And the pretty red thing at her side looked like it was worth a lot of money. He wasn't wrong.. Except that he was if he thought he was getting The Claw.
And here she was, her combat boots kicking up dirty water as she sprinted down a hall like pipe. The sound of the water sloshing under her reverberating off the rounded concrete walls, she could hear Titan's bodyguards' big feet splash behind her, though muffled by the echo of her own run. At last she saw the end of the tunnel. There wasn't a whole lot of natural light down here, but there were plenty of sources of man-made light. And she was relieved to see it. Mostly because the girl thought the tunnel was going to go on forever. She grabbed the grapple hook at her side and started to swing it as she reached the illuminated end.
The Claw flung out the pipeline before anything else, it wrapped around the first thing it came in contact, and shortly after a demon looking girl in a bustle corset and choppy pants then slide out of the pipe's mouth, and her body weight shifted and she swung up, over, and just in time to catch the two body guards' poking their heads out to see what happened. She landed on top of the pipe, looped the 'rope' of her hook around their necks, and before the could comprehend what was about to happen, she kicked off the pipe and fell freely until the hair she clung to stopped abruptly.
She could feel them struggle for a short while, but everything went still. And very uncharacteristically quiet.
Ash climbed straight up the rope until she reached where her hook was still bound, wrapped around some smaller pipes, collected to run on way or the other. Carrying what she hoped was important fluids to a needed place. She grabbed the hair at the base of the hook, brought her legs up to hook onto the pipes, and then let go. In the far distance, she heard somethings very heavy fall against the metal cat walks along the side of the wall, where people inspected the pipes, and then she thought she heard something plop into the sewage waters below.
With that, she freed the hook, set it in the launcher on her wrist, and then shot in what seemed like a random direction. But she has been very busy, and knew where she was going by now. She shot the hook up a couple of times before it found the next solid concrete section, and wedged itself in between the elevator's solid walls and the nearby structure. Close behind it she followed, flying through the air arching just slightly in the air, and barely missing someone's head before twisting her body in mid air and letting gravity bring her back down to earth, where she landed with a loud thud with her back to the man she could have decapitated with her boots. With her right hand still gripping the morbid rope of her weapon, she turned to face him.
The usual unpleasant look on her face was replaced with mild curiousity as she looked at him, then twisted into an odd sense of familiarity as she recognizes the man from that day up above. Particularly the orange eyes that looked back at her. "Huh.." Was all she said, her voice having a strong hint of interest in it. She gave the hair a special yank to release her weapon, which landed harshly a couple feet, cutting the silence after that in two with a surprisingly demonic sound as the metal clashed against the concrete. "Didn't expect to see you again."
