the majority of the sites i rped at usually went by either "The stats determined how many combat actions you took" oor the "One Defensive action and one offensive action" this combat system is a little new to me.

Yup. Essentially, you're allowed to write a story. If your story involves injuring the other person, that's ok! However, a person "bunnying" or "God moding" really just very good writing. There's no talent in closing off all of your opponent's options. Also, if another writer integrates that injury in an interesting way into their writing, that shows that they have a good writing skill, so in many ways the other writer injuring you opens up opportunities for you to write more creatively!
