However the info you cited is what should have been referenced at the start of this whole conversation; the fact that secondaries can harvest Omnilium makes the ability to have a currency more realistic. I'd imagine if you're capable of harvesting Omnilium, you must therefore also be able to measure it - this implies that Magus churning out $10,000,000 Omnibucks that only turn out to be worth 1OM is therefore not possible (or at least, you'd have to find a really, really dumb secondary).
Plus, the rules in the same section Retane sourced state that the relationship between Primes and secondaries is seen as exploitative by some, so a lot of the difficulties that present themselves are canon.
