A dragon's arrival
#3
With nothing noteworthy happening during the dragoness's trip, she was almost happy to see that the people around the portal were reacting to her approach. She wasn't even bothering to hide herself as there was nothing that could have concealed her presence, and even if so she had no reason to want to hide. Instead she made a point to be visible so that the people would not believe that she might be trying to hide something.

When she came close to the gate she slowed her Kumdo and took a closer look. Indeed... the couple of people with armor were wearing things that reminded her of her homeworld, with slight style differences and pieces of metal that she didn't recognize - and of course unknown coats of arms on their shields and tabards. She dismounted when coming close and bowed to show respect and that she meant no harm, silently hoping that the etiquette was similar here to what she knew from home. She also made a point to not lower her head as she bowed so as to not make her lowered horns seem like a threat.

"Greetings", she said, using the common language of her homeworld. Once again, here's hoping that through some dimensional magic she could make herself understood. Her voice was unusually deep and growl-y but many years of schooling had taught her to speak in a way that humans with their high voices could still understand her just fine. "I'm afraid to say, I think I've lost my orientation. It's slowly coming back but I don't recognize this place, or this portal. Where does it lead t-"

"You're a newly arrived, aren't ya?" One of the guardsmen interrupted her with an amused grin, which broadened at the sight of the dragoness grimacing. She hadn't even upheld her act for one minute? That was disappointing. "This here portal be leadin' to Camelot. Though your kind's not taken well to round there." He eyed her over with a disgusted grimace, and Alexyana frowned.

"Camelot. That's all I wanted to know. I'll take your words to heart, but I'd rather judge for myself. I won't be causing any trouble, if that's what you're going to tell me next. Especially not when I'm only just getting used to this weird place."

"Better watch your tongue, lass." The other guardsman replied in his friend's stead. "You got a fast tongue, that can get you into trouble just as much as if you cause any. And don't think you're a big shot just cause you got brought here by Him. You're just one of many."

"Never thought I was. Thanks for the info." Again she bowed, then returned to her Kumdo and brought it to the portal by its reins, stepping through. It could've been worse... better too, of course, but she could really not complain. No spears driven through her chest, no mass panic, not even curse words - that was a huge improvement. So, off to this Camelot place it was!
