"Thank you Desco, we'll see to restoring your memory later." Genjuro hit some buttons and the scanner helmet shrank back down into a little metal sphere and rolled into the wall where a small door opened and closed to let it through. He did some quick typing on the computer and started a deeper analysis of the scan. He would have to wait to see the results before making any decisions on how to restore Desco's memory.
Now Genjuro went through a long list of possible experiments to perform. To start off the day with the real experiments he did not want to cause Desco too much stress or damage which could impact the results of other experiments. One in particular he wanted to get through before Desco left would definitely affect other experiments as it implemented new functionality into Desco's body especially after testing it. Instead, collar experiments would not cause too much change. "Okay Desco, try this one and see if anything feels any different."
A square on the floor opened up and a gray cylinder quickly sprang up out of the ground. The otherwise featureless pillar revealed seems in the middle, opening two doors to reveal a compartment that had a collar hanging on a small hook. Desco looked at it curiously for a moment then reached in and grabbed it. It was dull gray in color and had the same design that the collars daddy had given her before had. It was somewhat different from the ones in DA as the dangerous parts of it like exploding if removed were removed. She popped it open and clasped it on her neck under the purple choker she always wears.
Desco waited for some moments anticipating that something would happen but nothing did. Everything seemed the same to Desco. What Desco didn't know was that in good scientific practice Genjuro was establishing a control experiment, a base line to which to compare to making the results of the tests more meaningful. A good scientist had to test his own assumptions about what would happen so he started Desco with a collar that should only work under the conditions in Dante's Abyss. With so many unknown variables it was still within the realm of possibility that the collar might do something. Desco started to move, she let her tail expand and slither out from under her dress reaching for the floor and beyond as it pushed Desco's body up into the air. Yogsothoth materialized behind her. "Desco doesn't feel different Daddy." That demonstration proved that the control experiment worked as expected. Desco's basic abilities were which was expected and unlike in DA Desco was able to summon Yogsothoth, in DA she couldn't summon or de-summon him.
"Good Desco, that is what I expected." Genjuro went back to his list of experiments and looked for a good second experiment to attempt. He zeroed in on one that increased the power of the one wearing the collar, just as the ones in DA did by proving more mana, energy, or whatever the wearer needed to unleash their most powerful attacks, but this one should work in a normal Omniverse setting. This didn't make much sense in mundane science but magical laws could easily perform such complicated effects as they relied on conceptual ideas to affect the world. The cylinder next to Desco whirred as hidden machinery pulled down the hook that Desco could see and replaced it with a new hook that had a new collar. This one was a light yellow color. Desco clicked off the one she was wearing and swapped it with the new one offered.
