A dragon's arrival
#1
After seven years of living in solitude, Alexyana had gotten used to a simple, routine-d life with no surprises lurking around the corner. There were seasons passing by, animals traversing her territory, daily training, hunting, gathering, cooking and other everyday tasks, the occasional chatter with her family and... that was pretty much it. As a result, when she did not wake up in her bed, but rather floating in darkness with a faceless figure speaking to her, fear and panic were her first reactions. Questions formed in her mind: Where am I? Is this a dream? Who is this being?

Quote:“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”

Alexyana shuddered as the voice resonated through her bones. Part of her wanted to panic more, but oddly enough she instead calmed down. She still was on alert and greatly at discomfort, of course, but she listened and, when the figure that called it- himself? - Omni handed her a rainbow-colored glowing orb, she wordlessly took it and examined it.

Quote:“This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most."

Interesting... a form of matter? And the faceless being had mentioned that that world reflected the wishes of its inhabitants. It sounded like this Omnilium stuff was some form of matter that shaped itself according to people's minds. As she thought like that, more words were spoken.

Quote:“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn."

Do not fear death? Right... perhaps in this world the laws of immortality for demon- and angelkin did not apply, and she was vulnerable like any mortal. She'd have to inquire. And there were others who want this thing. Involuntarily she clutched the orb closer to her chest. Then she was dismissed:

Quote:“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

-----------------------------------------

"Wah! Ah what the...!" The dragoness rose to a sitting position as if stung by a bee, and frantically looked around. The darkness, the faceless person - uh, Omni - and the orb had all faded away. Now she found herself lying on solid ground, and behind her were blubbering sounds. She grunted as she pushed herself to her feet while checking herself for any injuries - finding none - then looking around if that Omnilium orb thing she'd been given was around here - not finding that either. Though it seemed to have been some form of energy rather than matter - it oddly reminded her of mortal souls which she had used to consume - she could only suppose that it was stored within her being, if it wasn't material.
Only then did she check her surroundings a bit more closely. There was a rock formation where the blubbering sounds were coming from, which she found to be a Geyser upon closer inspection. The ground where she had woken up reminded her of home, it was like plains with patches of grass and the occasional tree, but beyond a certain distance from the fountain in the middle it was rapidly fading. Needing time to digest all this, the dragoness leant onto the side of the rock formation and took a deep breath, then another, and another. Gradually her mind calmed. She found that she still had the Bracelet of Lucifer to at least keep in touch with her family even though they were now dimensions apart. It wouldn't help her, really, but at least they wouldn't be left without knowing a thing.

Okay... what was next on the list? She'd recapitulated, she'd made sure to still have her belongings, and... and she was still wearing her night gown? Oh right, Omni had summoned her when she'd been in bed. Luckily she always kept her bracelet on her person. But what had this Omni guy said? With Omnilium anything she desired could be hers. She sat down, closed her eyes and focused her mind as hard as she could, picturing her everyday clothing in great detail. a rainbow-like glow appeared before her and slowly, gradually took shape, although the process would take a long time before the clothing was fully present and usable. Perhaps ten minutes or so, considering that the dragoness was putting great detail into it, including a belt, leather pads for protection and so on. Time during which other individuals could approach her without her taking notice, as she was focusing herself entirely.
