Triest didn't dream, rather he struggled with sleep. This wasn't exactly his first experience sleeping in a run-down building with a hostile presence surrounding the area, but this was the first time he was away from home. Not as in some kind of house, or even town, he never really had that for long, but rather, being an entire world apart. The feeling would pass with time, as he was only a drifter in his past life, and nothing awaited him back if he ever chose to find a way out, if that was even possible.
The worst part was the feeling of absolute guilt before he awoke. If he did dream, he didn't remember it, but he felt as if he'd been a murderer. Someone who took life without a second thought, and no remorse. He didn't remember actually killing anyone, although perhaps the buggy ran over a few soldiers, he didn't really look. Yes, he shot people before, but they often had it coming, crooks and belligerent psychos that society would have thrown into prison for life if the chance presented itself, but these soldiers were just doing their job. Just trying to enforce the peace. Sure, they have worked for a corrupt government, but that didn't mean that they themselves were corrupt, could it? This vigilante business was a dumb idea. Defending yourself was one thing, but this? A line had to be drawn somewhere. Now his allies wanted to drum up a revolution, but perhaps yet there was a way to do so without as much violence as one might anticipate.
He was slow to wake, still wanting more sleep from the restless night. To his pleasant surprise however, he did wake up with his wounds healed, though the guilt still lingered.
...
On the trail, Triest responded to Axorn's question, "I don't know. I'm not sure if they are still blockading the entrance, or if they have moved on."
He paused.
"I think we should avoid killing anyone else. It sounds weird, but if we give them more bodies, then they'll have more of a reason to search for us," Triest wasn't about to tell anyone about his experience, although Erik might probe his mind. Triest simply had to watch for that and resist, and if Erik did manage to break through, he'd tell him to knock it off.
"That and don't be seen, until we find a way out of here."
