I woke up in the apartment building. I was hoping I was back in Central City, that the whole thing was just a dream. I looked out the window from the bed. "Nope...Wasn't just a dream..." I said to myself. I got up and dashed down the steps, using my speed, before stopping nearby the hotel owner, who appears to be cleaning the main hallway. "Hey..." I said to the hotel owner.
"Hey, Flash...Man, why didn't I think to hire a janitor?" the hotel owner responded while complaining about work. He then walked over to me. "By the way, I heard about a 'mysterious streak' stopping a bank robbery...And, then I just saw you dash down the steps at SUPER SPEED, so...I assume you were a part of this?"
"...Yeah, it was me...I was the streak." I responded.
"KNEW IT. Now the owner of the pizza shop owes me Omnilium." the hotel owner said, smirking a bit.
"By the way...I'm kinda new here, and I need to ask...What can people summoned by Omni exactly do that others can't?" I asked.
"...I guess I can explain what you can do that people like me can't." the hotel owner said.
"Alright...So, where do we start?" I asked.
"Well, for starters, Primes, the people who Omni summon, can summon Secondaries - that is, the other people - without having to wait for Omni to pull 'em through." the hotel owner explained.
"Cool...Anything else?" I asked.
"I don't know how it works exactly, but Primes can create objects...I know it has something to do with focusing, but I'm not sure exactly how it works." the hotel owner added.
"...I think I'll try something." I said. I then started trying to create something, focusing on the object I wanted to create...I summoned a smartphone after a good 5 minutes of focus and a little bit of strain. I turned it on. "There...it works. But, why is it...A bit different from a normal phone...?" I asked.
"You must have summoned a portable Dataverse device." the hotel owner said.
"...What's the Dataverse...?" I asked. The hotel owner seemed like he was growing tired of me asking so much questions.
"It's the internet of the Omniverse, with a few perks." the hotel owner explained. "If you have a base, you can get a device that allows you to enter in a simulated form, or an uplink device to enter the Dataverse physically."
"So, pretty much, the internet combined with the Matrix." I commented, smirking a little.
"...Oh, brother..." the hotel owner said, facepalming.
I shrug. "So, anything else I should know?" I then asked, eager to hear more.
"Well, you can also heal yourself with Omnilium, but nothing too bad will be healed particularly fast..." the hotel owner explained. "May take a few HOURS of focus to handle an open wound, and good luck using that mid-combat."
"Got it." I said. I then remembered my status of molecular regeneration. "Come to think of it...In my world, I had a status of molecular regeneration...Why isn't it in effect here?" I then asked.
"I don't know...Probably the limits of the Omniverse...It runs on it's own physics, your molecular regen whatever probably doesn't fit into its...Special...brand of sense." the hotel owner said.
"Thanks..." I said. "...Who are you, anyway?"
"Call me Joel." the hotel owner said. He then stepped back behind the desk where I reserved my room at.
"Alright...Joel...Now, I'm headed on patrol." I said before dashing away, causing all the papers to fly off the counter.
"...Well that didn't help any..." Joel said, starting to pick up the papers.
I dashed through the streets, dodging pedestrians. I quickly took a turn down an alley, and found nothing. I then heard another alarm go off, and it sounded like it was coming from the same bank as last time. Quickly, I dashed in the direction of the bank, lightning pulsing through my veins, wind going into my face, moving as fast as I could without becoming unable to turn.
Eventually, I stopped in front of the bank, and then dashed in. This time, I was a lot more surprised at what I saw; a man in a plain blue cap, a black jacket with a grey shirt, blue denim jeans, and brown boots. There are metal boomerangs seen poking out of the inside of the jacket.
"...That reminds me of Captain Boomerang..." I said.
"Never heard of 'im." the man responded.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Tom...Tom Arlok." the man responded. He then pulled out a boomerang and threw it towards me in an arc. I was hit in the leg, but there was no open wound. I quickly anticipated Tom's next boomerang, caught it, and threw it back. Arlok ducked it, and stayed down long enough for the boomerang to come back and hit me. He then got up, and threw another one at me. I dodged at high speeds, before landing a solid kick in his leg. He fell, but quickly got up and brought out another boomerang.
"I have to say, you are an excellent opponent..." the man said, drawing another boomerang. It seemed to be a bit sharp, and shined a little. "It's a shame this has to be over so fast." He threw the boomerang, and I ducked it. It came back around and slashed my arm, creating an open wound. I stood there for a few seconds as he dodged the boomerang and let it hit a wall. I quickly ran away, seeking to find a hospital to treat the injury.
Around 15 minutes of eyes darting around shops, I found a hospital in the middle of all the commerce. I entered, and an hour or so later, my arm was tended to.
"How did you get that wound?" the doctor asked, checking a clipboard.
"Tried to stop a robbery, got hit by a metal boomerang to the arm." I responded.
"Boomerang...? Unusual weapon for a robber..." the doctor said.
"Yeah...Well, he didn't seem to be...Just a robber. I have a feeling, he's gonna be making a comeback..." I said in response. Comeback...Gotta remember that for his villain name. I thought to myself. ...That's a lame villain name, I know, but Captain Boomerang was taken, and Comeback seemed to fit the theme. Plus, Cisco was the guy who named things.
I paid the medical bill, and dashed away, to go on patrol some more. I darted my eyes around the shops, but nothing seemed to be going on. I quickly came to a stop, exhausted. I needed carbon to fuel my speed, and there wasn't anywhere with food nearbu. I dashed a few more minutes, looking for a restaurant or something, before coming to a complete stop. I collapsed shortly after, unable to run any further.
