If you were just summoning her to claw at an enemy and then disappear, that'd be cool, but if you're planning on having her as a "combat partner" or sorts, she'd need to be an assist. Think of it as the Kamikaze Ghosts vs. Saibamen from Dragonball Z. The Kamikaze Ghosts could be a move, the Saibamen need to be an Assist.Alright, guess I ought to keep those moves handy until I shell out OM for an assist.
Omni Wrote:Soul Eater: the way you got this approved before was as part of moves that used it. However now you're trying to get it approved as a separate move that affects several moves for a single cost, essentially giving all those moves variability. It doesn't work like that. You need to upgrade those moves. As a sidenote, reducing someone stats is going to require a big downside.Okay, no, I went about this the wrong way completely. What I wanted was Soul Eater to act as a sort of state that Ragna had to turn on and off, in addition to being a part of any moves that use it. Essentially, Soul Eater being toggled 'on' would enable switch all the 'normal' states of those moves to their 'Soul Eater' states, where each move would then behave differently, with each of their caveats and bonuses.
Drive: Soul Eater - ???? OM
Ragna's 'Drive' technique, Soul Eater, is a carefully-maintained technique that utilizes the power within the Azure Grimoire by channeling it through his body. This allows him to manipulate darkness of the Black Beast as an energy form, using it as a bolster to his own attacks. Ragna can activate and deactivate this state with a moment of uninterrupted focus each. With this state activated, any moves that have a secondary function requiring Soul Eater are automatically affected to use that second function (and only that, until Ragna switches out of Soul Eater).
Hell's Fang - 600 OM (Requires Physical Strength, Burst Movement, Drive: Soul Eater, Debuff Proficiency)
Ragna dashes forward to strike his opponent with an outstretched fist. The force behind this blow is enough to significantly knock back the target is they are caught off-guard. Ragna takes a moment to recover regardless of whether or not this attack lands properly (a couple seconds more so with Soul Eater used), leaving him exposed if the enemy has managed to outwit him.
With Soul Eater engaged, Hell's Fang requires Ragna to take a second to engulf his arm in dark flames, and his forward lunge is slightly slower. However, successful impact creates a small explosion that infects the enemy with with dark flames, not burning them majorly but causing damage over about 5 seconds. Ragna also takes over a full second to recover from this attack.
Inferno Divider - 600 OM (Requires Physical Strength, Super Jumping, Blood-Scythe, Drive: Soul Eater)
Ragna hunches low with the Blood-Scythe reared behind him, for the span of just under a second, then a moment later leaps upward in a spiral motion, swinging a huge hilt-first uppercut with the Blood-Scythe. This move generates enough force to carry his target into the air with him if it hits completely. After executing the move, Ragna must land on the ground again before he can act further.
When using Soul Eater, Ragna charges the move for a second longer to wreath the Blood-Scythe in dark crimson energy. The attack, if it lands directly, will not only carry the enemy into the air but launch them several meters further up, along with dealing a bit more damage. Additionally, Ragna must take a moment longer once he lands to completely recover.
When I think about, however, I realize I might need an alternate form to achieve this sort of thing properly, and maybe I can't even do that with an Alternate Form. I'm not going to be too persistent about this, so if this doesn't work out I'll just keep Soul Eater as it is right now. I just wasn't satisfied with it's current state, and was hoping I could change it to something different but spiritually the same.
