Funny how things work. Whether it's fighting against the tyranny of the red-eyed Halghast empire or fighting thousand year old corpses, it doesn't matter now. Even the strangest things get blended into one.
Our melting pot of a group was occupied with pressing mater over and over again, but everyone showed dedication to our cause. Captain Crow and IRIS kept us on the defensive edge, Grave and Alice stayed back, I held our back line and Richotoffen took two roles as the medic and the fighter. Lightning flowed from Richotoffen's staff and it kept the undead off us.
The undead came at us from all sides as the area shield would only keep us safe for a short time. I just happened to catch Crow and IRIS's speech about there being 5 minutes left. Survival was key right now and I didn't need my military training to tell me that I needed to keep myself and the group safe. I felt my M-84 Assault Rife as I ran following the group, holding my ground. Things seemed to be going alright currently even though I have been using it a little more than usual lately.
Our group had ignored our hunger, thirst and sleeping patterns to endure through it all. Running through this battlefield, reminds me of an old time. I was there in a overwhelming situation and my crew was hungry for a fight against the Halghasts at the time.

Well that didn't last long..
As we finally made it to what seemed like a safe spot, we were greeted with another site of the creatures of the dead. The burned trees weren’t helping.
Just our luck, we were greeted with nothing but two black, charred trees. But what made my day was that quite a few familiar faces greeted us. Raw Onion and her group had made back to us. The others who had survived the temple had made it back to us…
What was even better was a familiar face showed herself. I saw Klaud again. As soon as I was able to kill the undead near me, I put on a straight face and saluted her “General Klaud, it’s great to see you and the others again.”
I delved deep within my mind and tensed up at the thought Why did Omni send me of all people? To see me suffer? To see my group suffer? Why?! I just wanted to ask him why did he revive me of all people.
As our groups started to become almost reacquainted in the art of killing zombies, old allies and enemy secondaries showed their faces once more. But there was a little bit of a problem there. My head swerved over as I shot another undead and saw Klaud with a knife at her neck by none other than the hunter named Clayton.
Clayton was acting a little too crazy for his own good. What the hell WAS he doing?
I shook off that terrifying thought of my superior. A general who I knew as a father and he was killed in cold blood. I wouldn't let this happen to another general. Not Klaud.
I stared over at Clayton and frowned “General, you need me to keep an eye on him? It’s the only way I can help our group, I’ll make it count.”
Maybe it was better if the others didn’t know what me and General Klaud had to say to each other. Maybe it was for the best. It was more like a “soldier to soldier talk”
It was then the wooden man interfered in our conversation. He happened to blurt out everything Klaud said.
Jan then frowned trying to show no emotions “General...”
Klaud tried to reply to Jan and said “Colonel, what happened in the temple?”
Jan shook his head “Not here Klaud…”
