Quote: Stage 4 - PART 2 just happened! Below will be the RP'd version of how everyone stumbles on together. Feel free to give your own interpretation as well as impact the group with your own character.
The following have received a "bonus" item. Check yo' inbox, beasts.
Lyra, Christa, Grobdum, Isaac, Klaud.
As for the next phase (5), if anyone gets a bonus, I will personally make you the best item imaginable.
Remember this phase still prioritizes character interaction and will last until Monday Evening (a little earlier than midnight, but I will take requests, possibly.)
As for anything else, next phase will be *intense* I'll probably let that one last 4 days as well. I'll be writing up the hints after this post, so I will definitely be looking for how you all apply them to your posts (should you choose).
//OOC: to Zack, and crew wondering why only our pair is not yet at the rendezvous, we WILL be at my next post (or zack's), but part of the reuniting "arrival" involves mainly that we are delayed because we don't have "the (prized) map" it makes sense that everyone gets a slightly different challenge and we're about to show up. its not like we got lost or went astray or anything ;)
<Context: it's mainly a balancer effect to reinforce the actual advantage that winning the map has brought>
Extra: Ghost girl won't be seen until after phase five, unless Urg or Abner choose to see them in their next posts.
Happy writing everyone!
Raw Onion used a demure voice as she guided her group with the occasional glance from Lyra to make sure they were going the right way. Of course almost everyone had wondered what had happened to the others, there would be no real way to search –especially through the armies is the undead– for the survivors of the temple's destruction. There was no way to be sure they were even alive, as the group had just barely managed themselves. So, they carried in the torch, perhaps if they were able to find Omni, it would bring meaning to their deaths, or he would even wave his divine hand and resurrect those who had sacrificed all for their cause.
Their guided wanderings from the map brought each of them *safely* to a location with curved trees with empty black branches that clawed at the sky. The location had been some distance away from the Blighted Dell and appeared to have suffered from a horrible fire, yet the cursed trees still grew into the sky, lifeless.
IRIS computed an accurate route using some internal mechanisms –such as data the robot had sifted through on the web– and soon the winding paths all converged into one. The group was lead among the strands of direction, and delved deeper into the forest, where they met some not-so-friendly faces. They were bombarded with the undead, all weapons blazed in the massacre as the group drew near to the blackened and charred area. Rictoffen's mind was send rushing back into the past, where he had once dealt with a problem too similar to this. Their group was surrounded, yet the group's willpower thrived and the determination showed in their eyes.
It was Crow who had wandered a little ahead, who first was quenched with a wave of relief, surely their group was done for, however the glowing sight of a pony restored his hope. And while the group had drawn an entire horde of zombies to the others, with restored numbers, they could overcome.
Klaud rose in the face of strife. Her charisma thrived off of her own willingness to lead others and to survive. Yet the words of the flickering apparition still dwelled in her mind while bullets spiraled into the brains and guts of the undead. Occasionally, as they fled and fought with the ebbing throes of battle, the child would reappear and whisper, "This way."
The monsters grew less frequent and while there was no reason to trust the child, escape was a better option than death. The followed the mysterious child into the distant forest, before catching sight of a distinguished zombie, who was fighting one of his own brothers.
What had happened to cause two undead to battle one another? This place was seriously screwed up.
However it wasn't hard for her to guess which monster was on her side, as nearby, there was someone on the ground. Urg had saved their life in a surprise attack. Upon closer look, it was Roger, who had lagged a bit behind the group and was caught in a swell. Had Urg not come from no where to assure Roger didn't become meat, his death would have been ensured, and his fate, sealed. Klaud wondered if the others were nearby and with another glance over her shoulder as the others covered her, in the battle her eyes caught on a horde of zombies that they were heading straight for. Some help that ghost girl navigator was.
The general's eye's widened as she realized what was at the center of it all.
The rest of the survivors.
...
Meanwhile.
"I'm not your sister." The Ghost Girl repeated, her words haunted the night as the chill of the air crawled beneath Christa's skin.
"Who. Are. You." A flat tone nearly snarled at the child, who tilted her head out of curiosity for such a seemingly passionate emotion.
"I could say the same to you. An answer at this time however, would change nothing. " The child seemed to toy with the Christa with wisdom beyond her years.
"Don't avoid the question." Christa's eyes flashed to Abner's who still looked at her, a question pending on his lips.
"All in good time, Christa."
The girl smirked with a smug content before she swiftly vanished with the swirling sound of a flapping wind; Abner cursed, Christa's own expletive followed. Mutually, Christa mentioned, "At least we can agree on one thing."
Abner's eyes fell on the woman, too arrogant and self serving to be considered honorable, however he agreed with a nod and another taste of his cigarette. The smoke stung her nose, as her tired eyes scrolled the empty landscape. Screams in the night continued endlessly and restless undead came and went, but never in numbers they couldn't fend off.
They staved off hunger, thirst, and sleep before eventually stumbling upon a large pack of wild dogs. The pair would have had no idea they still remained askew from the rest –of those who had survived– as their guns pointed against the nearest ferocious threat. A circling canine dodged Abner's bullet and leapt forth, only to be ceased mid-air by Christa's immaculately readied rifle.
No, she wasn't the least bit honorable, but her determination to survive was undeniably admirable.
