Rest and Recovery... and Running

"I'll keep watch." Erik said as he stood up and stretched. He was used to skipping sleep for safety. The night was mostly uneventful. He spent the night leading out a window into the street below. There anything out of the ordinary. A few drunks wandering aimlessly, a few homeless people looking for somewhere to stay the night, Erik even swore he saw someone get mugged.

While Erik watched a fight between two rival gangs, a pair of storm troopers came into view. He thought it was odd that law enforcement was present in the lowest tier of the city, but after a large-scale crime he wasn't to surprised. The two gangs scattered and Erik ducked down to avoid being seen. For a while, all he could hear was the quiet snoring of his two friends and the sounds of footsteps outside. He then heard an officer talk to what he assumed was a drunk man wandering in the streets. "Have you seen anyone suspicious around lately?" The trooper asked. The drunken mumbled something which Erik assumed was no and the officers left. Erik didn't peek out the window until the sound of footsteps had faded away. Erik spent the rest of the night staring into the 'sky' and thinking about his future in the omniverse. While he was a prodigy mindbreaker, he couldn't accomplish much outside of his sect, but he had an opportunity make an impact on this world and he wanted to change it for the better, even just a little.

After what seemed like an eternity, the 'sun' began to rise and Erik's companions began to stir. After they had woken up, Erik told them about the storm trooper patrol he had seen and advised them to be cautious. They left the warehouse soon after, ready to continue their escape.
