Grave holstered his supernatural weapons his eyes quivered in genuine fear at the cloud of black... Of black... Whatever it was, Grave did not want to be caught up in it. What was the thing? Where did it come from? Who was it after? These thoughts commandeered Grave's mind as he began to turn from the oncoming threat. However, his retreat was hindered as he felt a sharp year in his side, ripping a part of his flesh away and drawing blood.
"Shit!" he swore as he grabbed the spear near the head and looked at the assailant. The same green guy he had just shot. Apparently he hadn't hit the heart, but that was aside from the point. He gave the creature a powerful kick to the face, and he heard the thing's skull crush under his boot. Fires had spawned in the Nephilim's eyes once again. It took sheer willpower just to stop him burning down the jungle - and taking his allies with it.
He proceeded to slowly slip the spearhead out. He gritted his teeth and groaned in pain as he felt the gnarly blade slice into the wound as it finally came out and he threw it aside. His hands took guard over the wound, the blood pooling out and slipping through his thick fingers. The Nephilim began to make a mad dash (as mad as it could be with a bleeding side) for the temple, looking left and right at his allies as they, too, made beelines for the ancient building. The door was closing and fast. Grave could tell most, if not all of them would make it.
By the time he reached the temple door, it was still high enough to walk under, if only with a hunch due to his tall stature. He looked around, and it seemed he'd actually been the first in. His view spun one-eighty degrees and more and more Secondaries piled in, but when he double checked, he noticed some didn't make it; one wielding some kind of katana, another was a tiny fairy and the last was a strange boar-man. Even if those few couldn't see it, Grave took a hand away and gave them a salute goodbye as the large stone door produced a deep, echoing thud when hit the floor.
The Nephilim's eyes did their best to adjust to the darkness. The light glow of some of the members' weapons helped with that, but his vision was still fairly black. He removed his hands and unholstered Infernus from his side, flipping it out. The blade took on a light orange glow and produced a low hum. Grave moved the glowing blade to the wound on his side and tried his best to stifle a cry of pain as the heated blade worked at cauterizing the wound. He could hear the grunts, huffs, puffs and cries from the other unique people surrounding him as debris fell.
After his wound was burnt shut, he looked at the stone floor. His eyes zoned in on the strange substance painted along it. When he bent down and touched it, his fingers came up bloody. He followed the trail through the ragtag group of men, women and... other beings, around rocks and finally behind a large, shield-like protrusion from the floor. When he looked behind it...
He had to try his absolute best to refrain from shouting or crying out when he saw melon-sized bat laying behind the rock, curled up with a dart in its back. Alice shuddered every so often, taking sharp breaths. Grave quickly ducked down and scooped the Vampire up into his bony arms.
"Bloody hell, Alice, what happened?" he whispered in a broken voice, slowly sliding the dart out of her back. The bat gave a low, pained squeak in reply. Grave'd expression turned stern, "I'm sure someone here knows how to deal with poison. Hang in there, I am not letting you die," he promised her.
However, before he could holler for help, a bright light had emerged from the darkness and the silver-haired Nephilim peered over the thick 'shield' at the white orb floating between the group members. He couldn't bat an eyelid before the light flashed and filled the room with blinding light, and he felt his body transfer to somewhere else.
When he opened his eyes, the room he was in was illuminated by a single object; a brightly burning torch. He looked around and noticed four other members; a strange, spherical automaton, yet another soldier who was laying down with an arrow in his back, a man who looked like a doctor and wielded a large, mechanical staff and a blue pistol, and the last member took the form of a familiar face, the courageous Captain Crow.
But Grave's first intentions were not to get friendly with his new allies. He still held the large bat in his arms, her poisoned wound pulsating creepily. Grave whispered in her ear, "Maybe you should change. The poison won't affect your body as badly," to which the large animal nodded, and Grave watched as her body began to shift, enlarging and becoming more slender. The wings shortened into hands and the flaps of skin morphed into the dress surrounding the pale, blond girl now laying in Grave's arms.
"It's... Okay... It's only... Paralysis," Alice informed the Nephilim the best she could. Grave sighed, thankful it wasn't going to kill her, but he still turned his attention back to the group he had been put with.
"Hey! Any of you know how to get rid of paralysis poisons?" he shouted to them, hoping at least one would know.
